5.0 out of 5 stars Too close to the truth!, April 21, 2003

This review is from: Ishmael's Son (Paperback)
I thoroughly enjoyed the development of the characters and the plot. The research and understanding of military procedures was right on. The writing is a cross between the fast paced Tom Clancy adventure and the Clive Cussler romantic thrillers. A must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ishmael's son -- a must read, April 2, 2003

For anyone interested in the military, sex, or a plain good story, Ishmael's son is a must read. It is particularly significant in view of current events, but it will also stand the test of time. Easy to read, this novel is a cross between a Clancy pot-boiler and a Danielle Steele romance novel. The characters and events seem real, and I found it easy to relate to them. Some of the scenes are spectacular. It would make a great movie but for now, it also makes a great book.

5.0 out of 5 stars As current as the headlines--as suspenseful as Clancy!, May 18, 2003

This book is a fast-paced "page-turner." Every time I thought I'd take a break at the end of a chapter, I had to read the first few pages of the next chapter . . . and so on until I finished the book in two sessions. For those who love Clancy, but don't want to spend a month on a book, Blish is the author for you! Well-written, suspenseful, and with a surprising twist at the end, this book will leave you hoping Blish has another one going to print soon.
