Similar to Tinariwen, but better in my opinion, this is North African music that anyone can appreciate. The spirit of John Lee Hooker is refracted through a cultural prism that is exotic but universal. Not to be confused with the music of urban Mali and Senegal, which is also excellent, this is severe but rewarding electric guitar and vocal work that will hypnotize you.
