I love my French Press, and am always searching for the best coffee beans to press -- this one is easily my new favorite. (It also seems especially apt for espresso.) For me, this coffee is similar to Jamaican Blue Mountain because it has a sort of mellow and silky presence, a sweet flavor and a low acidity. I only try to buy Fair Trade, and since Puerto Rico is part of the US, these beans are homegrown, yet they possess the exotic flavor that you can only get at high altitudes in the Caribbean islands (e.g. Blue Mountain). Fellow coffee lovers definitely need to try this one.

Why cannot we find in all supermarket Coffee from Puerto Rico ? it is the other (with hawaii) coffee ground in the USA.
Why do they say, its quality has gone down in the last five years and price up ?... lack of this and lack of that.. How do we know.. just by giving it a try.. Obviously the taste of that one is different,... mellow and not acidic..

If you like the punch and brutality, stay away from it, if culture and products of old means something to you, give it a try, then you can judge... Indeed more expensive than at TJ.. but worth the difference. Refinement, true one, might be worth the trip.. in your coffee cup. Some say even the Pope used to drink some of the Black Gold of Puerto Rico..

Isla Bonita is some of my favorite coffee in the world. Just the smell of it brewing in the morning gets me excited to start the day. Great aromas, great taste. One cup keeps me going all day long!
