Not as 'interesting' as the title,
By
This review is from: Islam Will Conquer All Other Religions And American Power Will Diminish : Read How Allah (God's) Prediction Will Soon Come To Pass (Paperback)
I ordered this book because I was intrigued as to how its authors were going to show that Islam will conquer America. I thought it might add to my understanding of the Sept. 11 attacks or the huge Islamic proselytization process that has been occurring since the early 90's in Universities throughout North America. (...)But, No. The book does not explain islam's victory over America at all. It's a dull, if informative and even balanced at times, account of the mianstream schools of Islam, its evolution to the 20th century and its basic practices and beleifs. The book even has a surprisingly candid account of Muhammad's human traits and deeds, including historical accounts of his involvement in enslaving and executing prisoners. However, the crux of the book is an arithmetical proof of the divine origin of the Quran based on calculations involving the letters and words of certain passages. Rather than proving the existence of God this section suggests that apologists for God are climbing on mirrors to prove his existence. Again, nothing about America. If you like numerology, you may like this book...

Very Misleading Title,
By A Customer
This review is from: Islam Will Conquer All Other Religions And American Power Will Diminish : Read How Allah (God's) Prediction Will Soon Come To Pass (Paperback)
I was misled by the title of this book.As an American living in the United States during this present time of crisis, I seek to understand what is going through the hearts and minds of individuals and groups who oppose America and the American way of life. I believe that uninformed condemnation of everyone and everything on the "other side" will surely lead to more misunderstandings--if not worse. Ignorance is always unfortunate; sometimes, it is dangerous. I chose this particular book because of the bold (and audacious) claims in the title: "Islam Will Conquer", "American Power Will Diminish", and "Allah's Prediction Will Soon Come To Pass". How intriguing! I did not expect the book to speak for Osama bin Laden individually or for the al Qaeda network specifically, but I did expect it to describe religious extremism or militant aggression or even fanatical terrorism. It does not. Although the book does offer a relatively detailed description of the religion of Islam, the book's main thrust is to convince the reader that Islam is the single best religion in the world (i.e., that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is his prophet). Along the way, the book gives an informative and balanced description of the many groups and sects within Islam. In the last chapter, the book uses [read: resorts to] numerology in an attempt to prove that the original Qur'an was divinely inspired and that the text has been divinely preserved to this day. Depending on your slant, you will either be amazed or amused by the many multiples of nineteen (19) that can be found in the Qur'an. Hmmm, nineteen. Oh, never mind. It's probably just a coincidence. Only in the last four pages of the book do the authors begin to explain and rationalize the title. Assuming that the body of the book has convinced the reader that the Qur'an is the Word of Allah, the authors reason that "Allah's Prediction Will Soon Come to Pass" (because the divine prediction is inevitable) and that "Islam Will Conquer All Other Religions" (because it is the best) and that "American Power Will Diminish" (because Islam will rise). Get it? If what you want is a book that describes Islam, then this book is very good. However, if what you want is a book that will give you insight into those who wish harm on us, then this book offers very little. Perhaps I am making too much of (just) the title, but it is all I had to go by in making my purchase. If the title had been "All About Islam", I would have given the book five stars. Instead, I give the book (only) two stars because I believe that the authors deliberately chose this catchy and provocative title to lure people into buying a book that substantiates the title's claim only indirectly.

Don't bother!,

This review is from: Islam Will Conquer All Other Religions And American Power Will Diminish : Read How Allah (God's) Prediction Will Soon Come To Pass (Paperback)
If you are looking at this book because you are curious as to the mindset of a more aggressive Islam, then do not look to this book. It is wholly disappointing and cites no other sources except the Holy Qur'an.It addresses a few points, but the title displays clearly the book's attempt at explaining two major points: How Islam will conquer and how American power will diminish. It bases its entire belief that American power will diminish soley because every great nation at some point diminishes. This is a foregone conclusion that every scholar already understands that, yes, at SOME point, America will cease to be. The other point the book makes is that Allah, himself, wrote the Holy Qur'an and therefore, since God is the author, it is undeniable that whatever the Qur'an predicts and declares, MUST be true. The authorship of the Qur'an is a matter of faith, not an issue for science or writing to prove. Mohamed Azad and Bibi Amina actually state that they will prove such a fact through a few articulated pages, which I found entirely amusing. Their arguement is that since an obscure line in the Qur'an mysteriously states the importance of the number '19', then by discovering the 'code' to 19 will unlock the author of the Qur'an. The authors go on with painstaking efforts to find a thousand ways the Qur'an mathematically and numerically relate to the number nineteen. Some of their examples are so clumsy and forced, that I could only shake my head. I felt like I was reading a book telling me the great coincidences between the Kennedy and Lincoln assassinations. Finally, the 'proof' that Islam shall conquer all other religions was, of course, based on their other 'proof' that Allah wrote the sacred book. I felt as if the book was an amateur writing, and lacked seriously exploration through research and a variety of sources. The authors themselves do not even cite any credentials for themselves. There book could have been written by anyone. If you are looking for a good piece of writing on Islam or if you are trying to understand Islam better, buy a copy of the Holy Qur'an.
