Excellent treatment of the topic. Explains the basics of Islamic Jurispudence well. I'd recommend it to any student of the law including laypeople just looking for an introduction.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just the law, no apologies, June 9, 2004
By skbooksca "skbooksca" (Chicago, IL United States) - See all my reviews
With an increasing number of Islamic scholars taking apologetic stances towards the Shariah, it is refreshing to find a work that has no agendas other than to lay out the basis of jurispridence in Islam. Think of it as an instruction manual for the tools used to build up the law. A "simple yet lucid" reader on the topic.
