Crafted from moso bamboo that has been caramelized for rich color, the cutting board is harder than maple and lovely to look at. Its sources are all natural, antimicrobial, and renewably grown, and it is held together with food-grade bonding glue. Proportions are comfortable, and a trim juice well contains drips so the side of the board with the bowls stays dry. Made without lead, the ceramic bowls keep sauces, herbs, or basting oils in easy reach and clean up in the dishwasher. Island Bamboo also includes two basting brushes with bamboo handles and natural fiber bristles. Measuring 15-3/4 by 12 inches, the cutting board cleans up by hand with soap and water. An Island Bamboo original, the Barbecue cutting board and serving tray comes with two bamboo basting brushes and two lead free glazed ceramic sauce bowls. Our cutting boards are unique, functional, and an attractive product. We pride ourselves on our innovative designs and quality craftsmanship. Bamboo is 16% harder than maple making bamboo a better solid surface for cutting. Island Bamboo uses a specific bamboo called "Moso" which is not a food source for the Giant Panda. Bamboo naturally grows in honey colored shade but is also available in darker color. In order to create the caramel colored bamboo, the bamboo is cured and heated turning the sugars in bamboo into darker varying caramel colors. The colors do not fade or wash out, are not stains or dyes. Island Bamboo uses only natural and approved food grade glues and only select grade bamboo.
