This is the finest Butcher Block I have ever owned. It looks good and it cleans up better and easier than I expected. Wipe it off and it comes back to it's original color which is just like the picture shows it is. It is very hard and the knife does not leave grooves in the board. I would buy a new one but I do not beleive I will ever need another board that is how good this one is.

This was my 3rd attempt at ordering a cutting board from amazon. For whatever reason amazon packs them loosely in a large cardboard box with none of those inflatable pads they usually use. I tried twice to order a big-block epicurean board (that was more fragile than this) and corners broke completely off those. After 2 failed attempts on that board (compounded by the fact that amazon suddenly marked the price up on the item 40%) I opted for this one which by comparison became a much better value.

Unfortuantely, amazon packed this board the same way--loosely in a bigger cardboard box--so it banged around inside the box the whole way to my destination. So it has dents and dings on all sides and has one big black smudge on a corner. That said, as a result of my failed attempts previously, general dire need for a cutting board, and belief the damage is bearable I decided to keep this.

The item itself actually looks even better in person IMO. It's very large as mentioned but I wanted to mention the feet on the bottom are threaded and capable of screwing off if you happen not to want them. That's pretty nice. You could also then go to a hardware store and buy rubber feet and/or replace them down the road if you needed to. The feet are slick bamboo so on my granite counter the board slides around very easily with these feet--I might change them out if it annoys me enough.

Other than that it exceeded my expectations. Will just have to see how it holds up over time, if it splits apart, molds, etc. For now (other than the insufficient shipping) I'm quite happy with the item.

This cutting board is huge! I love the size. Unfortunately the bamboo sections are starting to delaminate and crack. I do not know how long this baby will last.

The channel around the unit bugs me a little when I stroke off debris and small particles remain in the channel. However, it was made to keep juicy vegetables and meats from dripping all over the counter, that is great. So, I have to clean the cutting board anyway, thus the issue is really a wash. Yes, that was a pun!

After I wash it, I liberally spray it with distilled white vinegar (DWV) to kill and prevent dangerous bacteria. If you have a Costco membership you can get 1.5 gallons for about $3.80...it's natures highly effective anti-bacterial agent. Soaking your sponge overnight in DWV before you wipe your cutting board with that previously smelly bacteria riddled thing, is a great idea too. :)

This is one awesome board. First it is big. You will probably be surprised by how big. The surface is hard and easy to work with. The feet give it great stability on my counter, which is a little out of kilter. The gutter on it is nice and deep to catch what gutters catch. If I had to work with just one board, this would be it.

Perfect size for my kitchen. Looks fantastic and works great. Only complaint is that
it wasn't packed very good for shipping and arrived with a few dents. I also purchased the
bamboo oil and it really comes up a great color.

This is an awesome cutting board! I searched for awhile for the perfect cutting board and this is it. In searching I realized that putting mineral oil (food grade) on immediately and repeating everyday for a week will help prevent this (or any bamboo) cutting board from splitting. Then the occasional application from there.

This is truley nice looking and I like to keep it out on my counter. Works great for the intended use as a cutting board too. I am glad I purchased this. It is heavy, sturdy and thick with plenty of space for chopping. I feel I got a lot of bang for my buck!

I haven't had a chance to use this cutting board yet - Easter ham will be the test run - but all I can say now is, "WOW! That's a big board." This heavy hunk of wood is only four legs short of being a real chopping block. The bamboo grain and finish are great, the feet are a nice touch and the weight is stout enough to hold down whatever it's on during the next tornado. The only reason I didn't give it a five star is because it is actually a little bigger than I need and I would recommend the next size down for normal holiday household use. But if you need a board that will handle heavy duty meat cutting chores on a daily basis, this is the one for you. Compared to the numerous other bamboo boards out there, this one was very reasonably priced for its size and the quality does not disappoint.
