Not the right material,

I bought this board at a farmer's market and was excited to try it out as I wanted to replace my old plastic cutting boards. After the first washing though I noticed pieces of fiber coming off, and still does several months later, though I have never found it in my food. Within a couple of weeks the lamanates had started to separate which has created a crack half way up the board. It also will collect onion and garlic flavors into the bamboo and will give off flavors into other foods. I think hardwood would be a better material than bamboo.
