not bad, pretty small, September 30, 2011
This review is from: Island Bamboo CA8MG Cuisin-Aire Cutting Board, Mini, 8-Inch by 6-Inch (Kitchen)
This cutting board is pretty good. It's really small and thin so its really light. It's great to use for serving nice cheeses at the table, chopping garlic, slicing lemons, and other small jobs you don't want to dirty a big board over plus bamboo doesn't stain easily like traditional wood. I would say its too small to chop a whole normal-sized onion unless you chopped half, cleared the board, and then chopped the other half. For that its plenty big. It's exactly the size I wanted to replace an old wood one, but If you are looking for a normal-sized bamboo board, get the wusthof board which is better quality, about the size of a sheet of printer paper, and is pretty cheap, especially for the wusthof brand.
Really easy to clean (but don't let it sit in water! wash and set vertically so it can dry properly) but small fibers of bamboo come off when washing at first. I expect this to stop after a few more washes, and I should note that I only noticed this because I'm really nit-picky.
Glad I purchased it. Extremely useful, and good for the price, even if it isn't the very best quality.
