This review is from: Island Battles of the Pacific: Iwo Jima and Okinawa (Kindle Edition)
The level of detail provided in this book is incredible. If you are looking for the most detailed description of these two WWII battles, this is the book for you. However, the content is extremely dry (this is probably intentional) and I could only stomach reading a 15-20 pages at a time.
I'd recommend reading "With the Old Breed," which is Marine's account of Peleliu and Okinawa. It's written by Eugene Sledge, who's character is featured in the HBO series, "The Pacific." The book is outstanding.
