I have several copies of this book. I should say that I have had several copies of this book as they are often never returned from the people who borrow them. There is an awful lot of information, general and specific, about how the sea islands were formed and their geological and agricultural history. While mainly about the cotton boom of the first half of the 19th century, there is a great deal of information of interest to any one in interested in general history relating to the islands, the architecture and the cultivation of the land.

Well written and easy enough to read.
