5.0 out of 5 stars The best one in the series so far!!!
This was an awesome book. It had its shortcomings, but in general it was great. In this book, Shiloh Irons, Dr. Cheney Duvall's nurse and a former pugilistic champion, has sailed from San fransisco to Hawaii with a young man named Bain Winslow (sound familiar, diehard Morris fans??) to try and find out more about his family. (when he was an infant he was abondoned on...

3.0 out of 5 stars Weakest book in series, but a must-read for serious fans.
Island of the Innocent is a let-down from the previous books in the series because it lacks the depth of characters and strong plot line that the first six books have demonstrated. If you are a die-hard Cheney fan, you must read this book to find out what happens to Cheney and Shiloh. I would not, however, recommend this book for anyone's first exposure to the Cheney...

5.0 out of 5 stars The best one in the series so far!!!, August 7, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Island of the Innocent (Cheney Duvall, M.D. Series #7) (Book 7) (Paperback)
(when he was an infant he was abondoned on the doorstep of an orphanage.) Cheney, still in Frisco, discovered disturbing facts about Winslow. So disturbing, in fact that she decides to sail to Hawaii herself to warn Shiloh, and ends up staying on the island. Then, a "dormant" volcano decides that naptime's over. Cheney and Shiloh, along with some friends, find themselves racing for their lives, trapped between a river of molten lava , a burning jungle, and shark-and-jellyfish-infested waters. Of course, through it all, Cheney depends on God for strength to make it through it all. I think that this is the most exciting book so far... Gilbert and Lynn Morris have that talent of writing that makes you feel like you are right there with the characters. I was screaming and sobbing and praying right along with Cheney. Anyway, it was a fantastic book, but who's with me in thinking that Gilbert Morris should hire a new editor??? And someone please, please tell the authors to hurry up and write the next book!!

5.0 out of 5 stars 10 Star Wonder, July 5, 2001
This review is from: Island of the Innocent (Cheney Duvall, M.D. Series #7) (Book 7) (Paperback)
Along with the first book, I think this is my favorite! Lynn and Gilbert really outdid themselves this time. The dialogue is great (they crack me up sometimes) and the book is filled with suspense. About halfway through the book I got so engrossed I could barely put the book down to eat and sleep!!!! I immediately started reading book #8. Cheney and Shiloh are so sweet and funny together. I also liked learning some information about Hawaii. Great book! You will love it. I really enjoy the fact that Lynn and Gilbert create their characters to be very human. We see their faults, but it is pretty easy to love them anyway. If you have not read any books from this series... I highly recommend them... but start from the beginning!!!! (and when you get to this book you will be thrilled!)

5.0 out of 5 stars There will be a book EIGHT, March 28, 1999

This review is from: Island of the Innocent (Cheney Duvall, M.D. Series #7) (Book 7) (Paperback)
I have read all the Cheney Duvall books. Although I have been frustrated with how the series has gone along with Cheney's and Shiloh's relationship this book finally put an end to the question of how Cheney actually felt about Shiloh. This book takes place on an Hawaiin Island where Shiloh's family was supposed to have come from. He goes there to find out more. Cheney finds out some disturbing news about Bain Winslow the man who brought Shiloh to the Island. She goes trying to convince him to come back when a volcano thought to be dead errupts. They are caught on the Island trying to find a way off. At the end, Cheney finally decides that she really cares for Shiloh. I am looking forward to book eight coming out. I wrote Gilbert Morris when the series came out he said that there would be eight books in this particular series. I'm curious to see how they wrap this series up.

I thought that this book was the best of the Cheney Duvall M.D. series. I read it in a couple hours because I couldn't put it down! I would have to say that one of the reasons Gilbert and Lynn are so good is that the reader can relate to the struggles that the characters go through! Awesome book! I can't wait until the next one!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great spiritual expirience, February 19, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Island of the Innocent (Cheney Duvall, M.D. Series #7) (Book 7) (Paperback)
okay, I loved this book! I liked it much better than the others, because I think that the spiritual part of it was so refreshing to read about someone so obviously devoted to God. In some of these christian novels It is almost like they are just putting a prayer in or something just so they can say that it is christian. But this book really helped me! It was great and I am very excited about the 8th book coming out! Thank you Lynn Morris for this great christian book!

I am not really sure if I need to write this review with all those other great reviews it got from everyone else!!! BUT! It dose really deserve them. I love all the extra infomation that you get about the past ect. Now Gil,Lynn where's book #8?!?!?! I need it!!! The only one drawback, you have to wait to read all of them!!! Oh well there well worth the wait. In the mean time I think that I will read some House of Winslow and Lynn's book, The Balcony. That will tied me over....I hope! :)

I love how they describe things and tell how the caracters feel. With just the right amount of romance and adventure I'd recomend this book to anyone! If anyone has information on an 8th or any other good book like this one please e-mail me at intrigue107@hotmail.com

5.0 out of 5 stars It must not be the end, January 23, 2000
This review is from: Island of the Innocent (Cheney Duvall, M.D. Series #7) (Book 7) (Paperback)
After reading this book I thought about it for days. There must be another book! If not I promised myself not to read another series because it is to hard to end them. While reading the book I found that everything Cheney was feeling I was feeling the same thing, and so that is why there must be another book. If not I will have to take it upon myself to write the 8th one. So please please do not let me live with the thought of Cheney's life ending like this. If it had to end like this I would have rather her die on the island. If you haven't read the book yet then you must, but I would have read it before reading these reviews because they really give it away. I luckily didn't read the reviews first.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST BOOK OF THE SERIES, December 16, 1998
This review is from: Island of the Innocent (Cheney Duvall, M.D. Series #7) (Book 7) (Paperback)
This was a fantastic book. There was a lot of Cheney-Shiloh interaction, which I think has been lacking in some of the books. The plot line was also as good as ever, probably even better. I wished that it would have had a better ending, but I am awaiting a sequel (there had better be one!) =) A huge THANK YOU goes to Gilbert and Lynn Morris for writing a superb book. Keep up the good work.
