3.0 out of 5 stars Medicore.
Medicore at best, this book is unfortunately not very memorable. Returning to Azul Island and the island stallion, Farley threatens Flame with domesication. The ending is pretty guessable. If you really like the series, you might enjoy this book but only if you're a devoted fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Azul Island is found and Steve and Pitch become hostage!, January 8, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Island Stallion's Fury (Black Stallion) (Paperback)
This book kept me on the edge of my seat. It was sometimes spooky and sometimes even scary. If you read the Island Stallion, you know of Tom, Pitch's brother. When one of the foals who was sired by Flame is born as a twin and his mother rejects him, Steve takes care of him. But the foal follows Steve through the marsh and injures his leg. Steve and Pitch have to take the foal into town to the vet. Tom sees them and follows them when they go back. Well, he finds Azul Island. Not just the canyon, but the valley inside! Now it's up to Flame to save Steve and Pitch who have been captured!

Can he do it? Read it to find out!

5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Book- The Island Stallion's Fury, November 18, 2002
A Kid's Review
A fantastic book by Walter Farley is The Island Stallion's Fury. This novel is wonderful. It's about a boy named Steve Duncan and his friend Pitch. They find a lost world behind the high cliffs of Azul Island in the Caribbean. Only they know of the awesome world everyone else thinks is uninhabited. If you like horses, you would love this book. Pitch and Steve discover wild, pureblooded horses on the island. When Steve befriends the band of horses the stallion, Flame, leads him to a beautiful blue valley hidden by the huge dome-shaped walls of Azul Island. This book also has suspense. When one of the baby horses breaks it's leg Steve and Pitch have to go to another island twenty miles southwest, called Antago, to see a vet. Pitch's brother who lives in Antago is mean, cruel, and ugly. He is supposed to be in South America at this time, but Pitch thinks he lied and is still at Antago. If his brother sees the colt he would know Steve and Pitch found something they didn't want to share. As you can see, this is a great book. All these examples and much more make The Island Stallion's Fury my favorite book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Exciting Book! You have to read it., October 19, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Island Stallion's Fury (Black Stallion) (Paperback)
This book was a thriller. It was a great addition to all of Walter Farleys books. I loved when Steve would ride Flame thinking about nothing except Flame and when the baby horse was born with its twin. It was also exciting, but scary when Tom would whip Flame with his bull whip. It was also scary when Tom fell off the cliff! This was a very exciting book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A very cool book, July 11, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Island Stallion's Fury (Black Stallion) (Paperback)
The Island Stallion series is a great offshoot from The Black Stallion series. This book is another wonderful installment! From the tunnels of the entrance to the island to the back of the horses, Farley spins an exciting tale that keeps you on the edge of your seat and almost feverishly turning pages. Even better, it is an easy read and young people love it! Read it!

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC BOOK!, August 24, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Island Stallion's Fury (Black Stallion) (Paperback)
I started reading this book and just loved it. You go through dark, winding, and lots of tunnels that are easy to get lost in. A beautiful stallion romes the land of this underground island that seems as though it's just a rock. It's a fantastic book to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting, January 30, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Island Stallion's Fury (Black Stallion) (Paperback)
As a child I remember this as one of the more really tense and exciting books out of the whole series. As I reread it I was able to take more in and I found I enjoyed it just as much, and I still think it was one of his more exciting books, If you liked reading about Flame in the first one you will love this next step in the adventures with Steve and Pitch.

I just realized that my favorite author from when I was a kid, Walter Farley, wrote more books than they had in the library. I'm ecstatic. I read the Island Stallion years ago, and I was just thinking about it again. I can't wait to read this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lacey's Fury Cuz the End, March 8, 2006
This review is from: The Island Stallion's Fury (Black Stallion) (Paperback)
I loved this book. My only thing I had to complain about was that it ened too soon. I felt like it didn't go far enough to end and lead into the next book of this series. But the book was GREAT and I can't wait to see what Walter Farley has up his sleave for these two stallions next. Keep up the good work Farley!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Sequel, June 7, 2011
This review is from: The Island Stallion's Fury (Black Stallion) (Paperback)
This is a good sequel to The Island Stallion, though it's hard to write about a return to a secret place and make it as interesting as the initial discovery of that place. This book is a bit disturbing because of the villain's use of force against animals. Still, the story is interesting in its own right and also as a sequel.
