I wrote a negative review some months ago. I now unreservedly withdraw my prior review and strongly recommend Island in the Sun. My previous bad experience was probably due to a gremlin which crept into the old computer system on which I played Island in the Sun the day I received it from Amazon. The same system had never failed me before or subsequently. I was so disappointed in the CD that I set it aside, never played it again (until today) and put it down to experience. The president of the record company emailed me today and politely challenged me on my review. I listened to it on 3 different audio systems today and found it excellent and well worth the buy! So do so!

I found it very disappointing. I have known these songs (Island in the Sun, Yellow Bird, Maryann) since childhood and was really looking forward to listening to this CD. They sounded like they recorded it in a tin shed, the vocals were wimpy and the whole effect was not the joyous sound of the islands. I will keep on looking for a good collection of these songs!

I ordered this, paid for it and never received it. I emailed twice and never received any response.

I bought this on cassette for a couple dollars many years ago. What a delightful surpise it was!! I love this album. My favorites are Key Largo Moon, Day-O, Yellow Bird and... oh heck... I love them all!!

Get it.

This is a wonderful CD! I have been looking for the song MaryAnn for so long and this CD has a wonderful version of it! thank you so much!!
