About the Author

The author is a retired detective from the Milwaukee Police Department and a retired United States reserve military special agent. He worked the "inner city" of Milwaukee for over 25 years in various capacities and saw first hand how the ravages of crime strained neighborhoods and communities. More importantly, he observed how it broke apart family relationships, shattering the hopes, lives and dreams of many people. He is dedicated in attempting to change these trends and attitudes. He and his wife Lynn currently live out in the San Francisco Bay area to be closer to the numerous national parks and monuments which they plan to visit again and again; a dream they are finally realizing after moving out there in the Spring of 2007. Writing this series of books about the Boyz of Aloha is something Larry really looks forward to. The next book will be taking place in Yosemite National Park in California, one of the most beautiful and visited of all the national parks. Larry feels strongly about the importance of family in people's lives and in focusing on the loving, shaping and caring of our children so they become productive members of our society. He and Lynn have two wonderful grown children who live out on their own. A percentage of the proceeds from The Island Treasure Hunt will be going to support the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and Friends of Haleakala National Park, two very valuable charities dedicated to their respective causes.
