If you only own one calendar...,

This review is from: Islands Gallery Calendar 2010 (Calendar)
If you only own one calendar, Islands is absolutely a wonderful choice. I have been buying this calendar since 2006 (or so), usually in multiple copies to give to family and friends. Although an island, beach, or ocean scene is NOT the topic of each photo (there are boats and villas and other scenes), the quality is superb and the simply process of flipping to the next photo each day is rewarding. If you dream of travel (like those of us with a modest income), this calendar certainly will inspire you.

I've used this style of calendar for two years and it's awesome sitting on my desk! I get to see a beautiful new picture every day - great quality all the way around. You won't be disappointed!!

I first got one of these calendars a few years ago at my local membership wholesale club. They don't carry them there anymore, but amazon of course has everything practically. These are the best calendars. It is very relaxing each day to see a new beautiful island scene, a few of which I recognize from my own travels.

This is the third year I have purchased the Islands calendar, and I hope the publisher never discontinues it! The photos are large and beautiful and each has a brief description of the area. I have learned a LOT about places I am interested in traveling to by reading these pages. The pictures and descriptions have opened my mind to being interested in some locations that I previsously wasn't interested in seeing, and made me even more excited about places I plan to visit in the future.

I gave this calendar to all my brothers and sisters, suggesting that we could all be going on the same vacation each day.

I love my Islands Gallery day to day calendar because I am at work and look forward each day to see what island scenery is for that particular day. The pictures are stunning and it makes my day brighter!

I always look forward to this calendar. Last year I tried purchasing this calendar in February and it was on back order until the end of the year. I would recommend purchasing it very early.

The folks at Workman Publishing got this one right. About 90% of each page is dedicated to a high-quality photo, which measures 6x6 inches. That's pretty big for a print. Only the top 1 inch of the page is devoted to the date and caption. The caption usually includes a piece of trivia (e.g., "the name of the Tahitian atoll Rangiroa means 'vast sky' in the local dialect").
Each page is loose, i.e., not bound together at the top like some page-a-day calendars. This means the pages don't feather upward. They sit perfectly flat in a transparent case. What this essentially is, is a 6x6 inch picture frame whose image changes daily. Some are tropical (most, I'd say), others are from colder climes, like Scandinavian islands in the summertime. Either way, the photos are a joy look at. It's always fun to see what surprise is in store when you start the day.

So far, I'm really enjoying this calendar! This is my second Workman Publishing calendar, and I really enjoy the look of the gallery style and the photographs are always beautiful. Having a different island to look forward to every day is great, and helps brighten up my day. It looks nice on my desk, and I really would recommend this calender to anyone looking for a little escape during the day!

We've been buying this calendar for the last few years now and love it. As a New Englander, seeing the images of the islands each morning helps take a little bit of the sting out of winter!
