This review is from: Ulysses Moore #4: The Isle of Masks (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the fourth book in the Ulysses Moore series, and is a short, easy read for the age group 8-12. The other books in the series are:The Door To Time (Ulysses Moore) Long-lost Map (Ulysses Moore Book) House Of Mirrors (Ulysses Moore Book) The Isle of Masks continues right after book three, and this time the three young adventurers are heading off to eighteenth century Venice to try to find Peter Dedalus, clock-maker and inventor extraordinaire. Helping them are Nestor, the caretaker of Argo Manor, Fred Naptime the archivist and Leonard Minaxo, the lighthouse keeper. Setting sail on the magical ship Metis, they travel back in time, arriving in Venice as planned, only to be tricked by an unscrupulous duo, forcing the group to split up. One group meets some old friends of Ulysses and Penelope Moore, who join them in their search for Dedalus, but who also have secrets of their own. Also on the trail is Oblivia Newton, who has hired the mysterious Count Ashes to help track down her prey, and Oblivia is the one person who knows Dedalus' Achilles heel. A cliffhanger ending leads to the next book, and not even the door to time can tell us when that will be coming out. This book can be read on its own, but with so many adventures in the first three books, why risk missing anything? Amanda Richards, May 18, 2008

Well, personaly, I fell in LOVE with the series and it was just so....different compared to all the cliche adventure books. This series brought a new aspect and elemt to the readers. The plot is ingaging, although -in my opinion- not as thrilling as the first two ~but still amazing~. Years and years went by without a whisper from the author...and then I found out they had cancled the series in America. This book is basically like reading an empty promise. It truly is depressing to hear the truth. If the next book would come out, this would get an auto-matic 10 stars!
