Do not hesitate - this is quite a story. The author does an amazing job of telling it. This is a hidden treasure. You will not be disappointed.

I never received this book. The venderIsle of Passion: A Novel sold it and then refunded my money, saying they did not have one.

I really enjoyed reading this story about Clipperton Island. I like reading historical stories about strong, determined women and this really fit the bill. I couldn't put it down.

I loved this book. So much in fact, I have read it twice and sent a copy to a friend. The story is tragic but so beautifully written and fleshed out, it is very difficult to put down. True story of a marroned group of people and of a woman who prevails. AWESOME

I read this book in Spanish but was delighted to see an English version so I could share it with my friends. I will never again be able to look at a map, see the tiny speck of Clipperton and not recall this horrific and amazing story. Laura Restrepo did an outstanding job of giving us the facts and filling in the details. Her prose is smooth and she managed to keep me on the edge of my chair even though I knew the outcome. Highly recommended.
