This is not just a map - there are tons of tips, hints, and info printed in the margins that I didn't find in the 3 books I bought about Isle Royale. My trip would not have gone as smoothly without that info. The material it is printed on is durable and waterproof - I'm not sure if it is actually paper - it is definitely not that delicate paper that so many maps are printed on. This is the most useful thing I found in planning my trip.

This is probably the most accurate and useful map available for Isle Royale. It provides all the details of trails, water depths, hidden rocks, campsites, etc. that any visitor would need to know. We recently took a kayaking trip there over the summer. I used this map constantly to figure out where we were and where we needed to go. It was dropped in the water constantly, folded, bended and crumpled, and it held up through a week of this. If/when we take another trip there, I might buy another, since the creases are starting to fade in spots. But based on what we put it through, it exceeded expectations.

I bought this map in preparation and research for a trip to Isle Royal. Not a whole lot to say; it's a map. It gives good information and appears to be coated or made with a material that can hold up if it gets wet. If you are planning a trip to Isle Royal or are looking for a map of it, I would recommend it.
