Set in Edwardian England, ISN'T LIFE WONDERFUL is the kind of film just don't make any more. It concerns a little boy (Peter Asher) trying to cope with his stuffed shirt family, headed by bumbling Cecil Barker and prim Eileen Herlie (Gertrude in Olivier's HAMLET). His only real friend is Uncle Willie (played by Shakespearean actor Donald Wolfit in one of his few comic roles). The plot is wafer-thin; the little boy emerges triumphant over his father, while Uncle Willie, the one-time black sheep of the family, is admitted back into the fold, albeit with reservations. Blessed with a memorable title-tune, plus deft direction from former actor Harold French, this is a little-known gem of mid-twentieth century British cinema.

What a fantastic movie, it's a shame that Amazon don't have it available on DVD for purchase.
It's a movie that is full of good feeling & of course a movie that doesn't rely of crudity for cheap laughs.
I agree 100% with the other review posted here, It's from a bygone period and for that reason it is very well acted.
