Editorial Reviews

Review

“Dr. Gogarty has seen fit to emphasize his more official poems by putting them in the front of the book, but his lyrics and satires follow, as delightful and as memorable as ever--the happy results of a thorough classical education imposed upon a high-spirited Anglo-Irish temperament.”–New Yorker

5.0 out of 5 stars NEW YORKER SLANDERS THIS AS ANGLO-IRISH, August 3, 2006
This review is from: It Isn't This time of Year at All: ! An Unpremeditated Autobiography (Hardcover)
such infamous libel! Dr. St. John Gogarty has a fine classical Irish Jesuit education. Call him not by the shameful SASSENACH!!

Remarkable insights into his wit, into James JOyce, his complex friend, and into Ulysses and what inspired the character of the mercurial Buck Mulligan
