More About the Author

Leland R. Beaumont is trained as an electrical engineer, computer scientist, quality technologist, and new product developer. He is a system's thinker who is constantly curious about how the world works.

The first and second editions of his book ISO 9001, The Standard Interpretation, have been read by thousands of people around the world and helped many organizations obtain ISO 9001 registration. As Head of the Product Realization Process Improvement Department of AT&T Paradyne, he led the successful ISO 9001 conformity efforts throughout AT&T Paradyne's Design and Development organization. He has more than 28 years experience in Research and Development with AT&T Bell Laboratories, including eight years with AT&T Paradyne followed by five years with Lucent Technologies. He is trained as a quality management systems auditor. In addition to writing, he works as a consultant on quality assurance and new product development topics.

At Lucent technologies, now Alcatel-Lucent, he was responsible for specification and verification of Internet content delivery products. This led to co-authoring the book Content Networking. After graduating with highest honors from Lehigh University, he received his Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. He has worked in the data communications product development industry for over 30 years.

He retired after 28 years with Lucent Technologies. He is presently studying emotional competency and preparing to write a book based on this recent work.

He holds US Patent Number 6,959,333: Technique for content delivery over the internet. He is happily married and is proud of the couple's two adult children. His other hobbies include hiking, bike riding, fitness, and photography.

the author is stright to the point. you can read this over and over and still enjoy the authors writing style. it dident take me long to decide what additional documents i had to churn out to make my file cabinat full of QA documents follow the standard
