5.0 out of 5 stars Review of Isokinetics Pedal Exerciser
I purchased this exerciser for my mother (82 years of age). She absolutely loves it and uses it constantly while sitting in front of the television. Due to hot weather and mosquitoes, she is unable to walk outside, and this little exerciser has more than substituted for her lack of outdoor walks. She also uses it for her arms and is very happy with the results. The...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not designed for everyday use
Used one every day for a week and it broke. Also, a word of warning: it generates a *lot* of heat when in use. I brushed it after a 20-minute session with a bare ankle and gave myself a first degree burn.

Might be fine if you want something for *very* light duty, maybe for the arms. But if you set this on the floor in front of your couch before a Law and...

5.0 out of 5 stars Review of Isokinetics Pedal Exerciser, July 23, 2007

This review is from: Isokinetics Inc. Brand Pedal Exerciser - Assembled - With Anti-Slip Strips
The Isokinetics Pedal Exerciser is well engineered and constructed for stability. It is not a toy, but a very good piece of exercise equipment. The design, quality and price are all pluses. I am very glad I made this purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality at a good price, March 30, 2007

They all look the same but the price range is big. I can say that I believe this model is as good as they get. The quality is high and the pedal resistance can go all the way up to a a pretty hard workout, if you want to. I like the 4 big feet on this model. I think they will wear better than the kind I've seen on other models, and they look cooler!

I tried one of these for $9.99 from a different site/seller, and went through 2 of them in 5 weeks (including the time it took to ship the 2nd one out). My money is too tight to pay much more, but I got a refund from them and bought this one. It's been about 6 weeks, and this one still seems solid. I think the big rubber "feet" on it helps a lot.
It's needed a dab of oil a couple times to stop squeaking, but that's no big deal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Notes from a computer potatoe..., January 28, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Isokinetics Inc. Brand Pedal Exerciser - Assembled - With Anti-Slip Strips
Well, I've had mine for about two weeks...suprisingly I actually use it!

First of all, if you are indifferent to exercise equipment (like me) it's usually a waste of money to buy any of them. But this under the desk type equipment caught my eye while surfing Amazon.com. Fits under the desk/table eh? Small, lightweight, comes assembled?--under twenty bucks.

BINGO!

So I get it, and a set of 10 pound ankle weights. After reading all the reviews, and figuring no matter what happened I could get it to work for me just the way I want it to. It does.

Here is how my theory works. I don't mind sweating, I don't mind working--as long as I'm paid for it. Exercise for health--HA! Exercise so I can live longer--HA, HA! (I laugh at the idea). However, wouldn't it be nice to have something under the desk (just for those few impulses) where I don't have to set it up or move it out of the way----or ANYTHING?

Yes it would...it sounds like my cup of tea.

I found that after 12 hours on the computer a day, I'd get about one hour exercise on this thing without me resisting the impulse. That's an hour a day of exercise I wouldn't have gotten....not bad, right? Right.

So here is my bottom line information.

1. My measurements show the top of the peddle at 12 1/2 inches from the floor (when the peddle is at the top of its stroke).
2. With my leg on it (at the top) it comes in at 30 inches even.
3. The bottom of my computer table is 29 inches. (REMEMBER THIS).
4. The bottom of the peddle (at its lowest position) is 4 1/2 inches from the floor.

So, what does this all mean? Well, it means you are gonna have to push the peddles in front of you some so when your leg is at the top position it won't hit the table/desk. When I pushed mine out about six inches my knee cap dropped two inches.

Plus, remember those ankle weights? Mine are ten pounds (five pounds each). I found I got a ton of exercise using them...but I also found they were too unconfortable. So, I strapped them to the peddles (five pounds each). Now--you won't get as much exercise with them on the peddles instead of your ankles.......but you WILL get more exercise with them on the peddles than you would if you didn't have them.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo all in all, I like this product. I feel it is for those of us who are the walking wounded, or like me--just not into exercise (at all). I recommend it for all of us who sit too much, and also for those of us who spend too much time behind the computer or tv.

Just remember, any exercise beats no exercise.

bye!

5.0 out of 5 stars Isokinetics Pedal Exerciser, November 24, 2007
This review is from: Isokinetics Inc. Brand Pedal Exerciser - Assembled - With Anti-Slip Strips
This is a nice, simple piece of equipment for the office if you are sitting all day. If you place it under your desk you will need to lower your chair. It is a good way to burn some calories by staying in motion. I noticed a difference in just a week by pedaling two hours per day while working at computer. Keep some household oil on hand for when it starts to squeak.

5.0 out of 5 stars I bought another..., March 21, 2008
This review is from: Isokinetics Inc. Brand Pedal Exerciser - Assembled - With Anti-Slip Strips
I did indeed. It worked so well for me at home I bought a second one for the office, under my desk. This is exactly what I was looking for. A pedal exercise devise that had no fancy gadgets I would not really use and did not want to pay for. It had to be simple and sturdy. This device did all that.

It is small enough to store away and easy to get back out. No struggle as with a heavy product, and not so huge it has to stay set up all the time. Perfect for my needs in a small home.

Though on a day I did leave it out and people came over it was an immediate topic. Each of my nephews, three of them, took a turn and adjusted the tension, loved it! Two of them bought one. They range from obese couch potato to a very athletic and active hockey player. If it works for an old lady as well as those three, it will most likely work for you to.

I was looking for something that would "get my blood moving" without too much work or expense. This product was perfect. I use it while watching TV or read a book. I feel like I am doing my body some good without spending hours on a treadmill. I would highly recommend this!

4.0 out of 5 stars Basic Peddlar, March 4, 2008
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Isokinetics Inc. Brand Pedal Exerciser - Assembled - With Anti-Slip Strips
I bought this model and the deluxe pedlar as well for rehab from torn meniscus arthro knee surgery. The basic model was a little hard at first (4 wks after surgery) to pedal because the mechanism is not very smooth. It is light weight, easy to move from room to room, and even to work; also the feet on this model are much more slip-proof than the deluxe model. A 24" square anti-slip rug underlay works well under the pedlar. I keep the resistance low, so have not experienced the heating up that others describe. The physical therapist advised to use ankle weights instead of cranking up the resistance. Overall this exerciser is a good value.

You get what you pay for.
On the 10th use of this piece of equipment the weld came apart and it broke apart.
Don't waste your money.
