Not enough stars there to do this one justice. Pity it hasn't gotten more exposure. It's refreshing to hear gimmick-free music, by one of the most consistent and underrated performers of the last 20 years. No pretensions, just outstanding playing, singing, and songs. Keene's not capable of doing anything less.

5.0 out of 5 stars It all comes together, May 31, 2000
This review is from: Isolation Party (Audio CD)
Tommy Keene shrugs off the "almost" tag with a brilliant disc of power pop that is the best thing he's ever done. One part rock fuzz, two parts tuneful pop and one part jangle adds up to one of 1998's finest CDs. "Waiting Without You", in fact, gets my nomination for best song of that year, bar none. Keene doesn't have the greatest voice in the world (it's a bit thin) but he knows how to use it, and with these great songs he couldn't go wrong. Check this out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Long Time Missing, November 14, 2008
This review is from: Isolation Party (MP3 Download)
Two Undeniable "Isolation Party" Facts:

1) This is Keen's most consistently hard-rocking effort.

and

2) "Long Time Missing"

is,

without a doubt,

ONE OF THE GREATEST ROCKING GUITAR RIFF SONGS EVER.

Ever.

It's the kind of sound that could make the blood almost return to Keith Richards face, (well, almost).

I keep imagining a great muscle car commercial whenever it starts playing. A really good commercial. TK should just go for it and license it to Chevy or something and collect a little what he deserves.
