4.0 out of 5 stars Israel: The Blessing or the Curse
Israel: The Blessing or the Curse is great book! There are just too many occurrences where USA actions against Israel were followed by "natural disasters" (note that God created "nature" and is therefore in control of nature!) to be coincidences. I like to call them God-incidences.

All the information in Chapter 6 is fully documented in the back of the book...

3.0 out of 5 stars Right Idea - Bad Packaging
This book could easily have been half the size without loss of content, due to redundancy and inclusion of irrelevant material such as summaries of mid-east players. However, the fundamental premise is sound and worth noting. Jews might agree on many points up till the final scenario. Israel: The Blessing or the Curse is great book! There are just too many occurrences where USA actions against Israel were followed by "natural disasters" (note that God created "nature" and is therefore in control of nature!) to be coincidences. I like to call them God-incidences.

All the information in Chapter 6 is fully documented in the back of the book and research at a library can verify the correlation that was made.

Note: Now I would imagine that McTernan can add an addendum to his book. A few days after the Jewish residents were forced out of the Gaza strip (an action supported by the USA), New Orleans residents were evacuating the city faster than the highways would permit. And as I write this review on Aug. 31, 2005, the TV reporters are saying the worst is yet to come!

4.0 out of 5 stars I told ya so..., February 2, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Israel: The Blessing or the Curse (Paperback)
Jan 29th, 2003 the president in the state of the union said "In the Middle East we will continue to seek peace between a secure Israel and a democratic Palestine."

A few days later, the space shuttle Colombia breaks up over the president's home state of Texas roughly over a town called Palestine.

We'll have to see what comes out to see if Bush was twisting Isreal's arm again to give away land like he was doing right before Sep 11th, 2001.

This book could have been shorter because much of the material is repeated over and over, which made the book very annoying for me to read. Sorry Bill and John. You did your homework right, but next time get a good editor and let them do their job.

This volume brings Israel's role, past and present into the modern world. It helps point out some of the errors in some church doctrines.

This book could easily have been half the size without loss of content, due to redundancy and inclusion of irrelevant material such as summaries of mid-east players. However, the fundamental premise is sound and worth noting. Jews might agree on many points up till the final scenario. It would have been useful to include reproductions of some news headlines mentioned, as well as some of the measure for measure repercussions which happened to Israeli leaders who tried forfeiting the Land of Israel, (e.g. Ehud Barak being taken down right after his Camp David surrender and his attempted "Secular Revolution").

It was annoying to filter through and I had hoped for more, but there were some good gems to be found.

A very interesting and relevant book.

I agree with the other reviewers' comments about the inclusion of irrelevant material and annoying repetition (hence only 3 instead of 5 stars), but otherwise the book is spot on. The information it presents should be a serious wake-up call to everyone who thinks it's ok to support Israel's enemies, and to trade away land for peace. When will US policy makers realise that such things bring swift and severe retribution on their own nation?

Given the recent change of US government, and a noticeably softer line towards Israel's enemies, I believe it is high time for a second edition. However this edition has much excellent information, which is still relevant. Therefore rather than wait for a second edition which may or may appear, go and get yourself a copy now. You will not be sorry.

4.0 out of 5 stars great info---but crummy editing, October 23, 2007
This review is from: Israel: The Blessing or the Curse (Paperback)
I am almost done with this book, and should have been finished--- in half the time. In spite of the way it was edited, I strongly recommend it because of the content,. The book has GREAT information and the backlashes to our country are staggering. With what is going on right now---diplomatically (the US pushing Israel for giving up more land, including Jerusalem), we would do well to HEED the warnings of history. Mr McTernan andf Mr Koenig have done some amazing research, so the book is definitely worth reading (It should have ranked 5 stars EASILY). However, the repititions are more than annoying and very distracting. It would be great to read an "update"...but PLEASE, make sure the editor is doing his/her job---then you'd probably have a best seller on your hands. Thanks for all the hours of effort in researching the information as well as the obvious conclusions.
