Editorial Reviews

With the release of their critically acclaimed Black Diamonds EP in November 2013, ISSUES has seen a tremendous amount of success thanks to their innovative sound and constant tour schedule opening for acts like A Day To Remember, Of Mice & Men, Memphis May Fire, & Sleeping With Sirens, & a stint on the Vans Warped Tour. Their unique aesthetic is more refined than ever, and the band headed back to producer Kris Crummett (Sleeping With Sirens, Black Diamonds EP) to create more genre bending tracks, combining heavy rock & melodic choruses by dueling vocalists Tyler Carter and Michael Bohn.

It's a beautiful vinyl, not to mention the art and the cd comes with it. A truly unique sound that taps into your soul. People will look back in 10 and 20 years and realize how Tyler & Michaels sound paved the way for the Metal/electronic music industry

There are so many facets to this band & this music as a whole, it's very, very difficult to classify, categorize, explain, or sum it up in one sentence. This is a GOOD thing! It's a fusion of metal, djent, rock, r & b, hip hop, & pop. It's the kind of fearless music that grabs you right away and you know you're hearing something special, then just ages like a fine wine. From the djenty staccato riffage and breakdowns, to the soaring, soulful choruses, to the hip hop/dance elements, it's all blended seamlessly to near perfection. Very cool to hear the end result.

Something interesting to note; The problem with a lot of sing-scream bands is that there's usually one tough guy and one sensitive guy and they cram the two of them into the mix resulting in a band that forever struggles with an identity crisis, no matter how talented they are. Issues, however, does manage to pull off that marriage quite nicely. Like the title says, it's all about swagger & both of them have it so wherever 1 leaves off, the other picks up & it's not this jarring contrast thing that you usually get with these types of bands. Pretty refreshing stuff guys, I suggest giving this group a serious chance if you enjoy any of the sample tracks. There's exponentially more there beneath the surface just waiting to be discovered.

Been following this band ever since I found out about their EP Black Diamonds and I've held high hopes for this album. I am simply amazed by their prowess in conjuring up those songs and the songs worked. This might be my personal opinion but honestly, Tyler Carter's voice is beautifully matched by Michael Bohn's. The music arrangement is simple but effective. The songs might not suit the mainstream taste but give it more than one spin and it'll stick. Issues FTW!

This Album Is Nothing More Then Perfect.
Tyler Carter's Vocals are just beautiful and combined with Micheal Bohn's Screams make everything Incredible.
Instrumentals Are Awesome From Aj's Guitar, Scout's Turntables, Josh's Drum's, Sky's Bass.
If a fan of the MetalCore/Post-Hardcore with a little Pop feel then this is a Must Buy.

This album is a powerful mix of screamo, metal, electronic, R&B, and rock. The lyrics are beautifully written and are able to connect with the listener. (Check out "Disappear (Remember When)" if you don't think a song can touch you at an emotional level.) The intertwining of the spoken and screamed portions are flawless, especially in "Late". The music itself sounds completely original. The typical 3 piece of guitar/ bass/ drums sounds great in itself, but the augments from the synth and samples included in certain parts of songs make it sound like something completely new. This is a defining album for the current trend in the industry of mixing traditional rock/ punk with electronic.

Issues is a band to watch over the next few years if they can keep making albums of this caliber. If you aren't sure about buying the album, listen to "Life of a Nine", "Late", "Langdon House", and "Disappear (Remember When)". This is one of those rare albums where just about every song is enjoyable and can be listened to several times over in a single day.
