Puts a smile on your face,

From the start of their cover of "Telstar", The Ukrainians have a power that transcends just plain old rock and roll. This is music that celebrates the Ukrainian culture, even when they skewer it as in "UkrainAmerica". The covers of "Bigmouth Strikes Again" and "Anarchy in the UK" make you wish their CDs of Smiths and Sex Pistols songs were more available in the US.
It's a big, wide world out there. It's a shame that these guys aren't superstars in this country. It's nice to hear something different. I know that these guys have a different point of view and a different way of thinking. I haven't even gotten to the lyrics yet! Do yourself a favor, get a copy of this CD. It's great music! |
