About the Author

Professor Michael R. Bradley lives in Tullahoma, Tennessee, on the former picket line of a Civil War fort. In addition to authoring five other books on the Civil War and many articles and papers, he is a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Southern Historical Association, American Association of University Professors, and the Society for Military History.

More About the Author

Michael R. Bradley earned a Ph.D. in History from Vanderbilt University in 1970. He taught at Motlow College, near Tullahoma, Tennessee, for 36 years prior to his retirement in 2006. He continues to write and speak to groups interested in history.

Dr. Bradley is the author of several books dealing with the Civil War. The latest of these is They Rode With Forrest published by Pelican Press in 2012.

"Murfreesboro in the Civil War" was released by The History Press in March 2012. This book is a history of the experiences of the citizens, black and white, Unionist and Confederate, who lived in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, as the town changed hands several times between the opposing forces. Also published by The History Press is Forrest's Fighting Preacher: David C. Kelley of Tennessee.

It Happened In the Civil War by Michael R. Bradley is 139 pages and was copyrighted in 2002. The book that I own in the first edition\fourth printing. This book contain thirty interesting facts about the Civil War and a Potpourri of Civil War facts. Stories included in this book are the first submarine built, a prison escape, Stonewall Jackson's horse, ex Confederates movie to Brazil, Abraham Lincoln's favorite song and much more. This book is great if you just want to know some interesting facts. It Happened In the Civil War gets an AAA+++.
