I am attempting to introduce my son to Greek. We are not Greek and my son is in 3rd grade. I bought another book at the same time and when comparing the two, this book does not compare favorably. This book seems like it is a workbook for a textbook, but there is no mention of any accompanying book in the intro or on the Amazon listing. I have no idea what the author is thinking with this book. It does not have a list of the Greek letters and their english equivalents; not anywhere in the book. It's a bunch of worksheets that would be more suited to a child who had taken some Greek history and geography. The first page is a description of all the Greek islands and you're supposed to fill in their English names. The second page is a matching with major Greek sites and their descriptions. The third page has some Greek phrases and their meanings and then asks the student to write out a list of greek philosophers. If this is what you're looking for then you'll be happy. I personally find this book useless at this point. I recommend Greek Alphabet Code Cracker by Dr. Christopher Perrin. My son loves it.
