This was a book I couldn't put down and have actually read it twice.

It was a very inspiring read for me, motivating me to work hard for things in life, rather than waiting around for something to happen.

The stories in this book brought the advice alive in an inspiring way.

I am usually not much of a reader, more of a audio book person. But this book was a great read. It has a under dog theme that will inspire anyone to push to achieve their dreams. I strong advise anyone that has a dream to read this book.

I loved this book! It's full of honest and practical advice for success in every aspect of life. Whether or not you're an immigrant to the U.S., Maureen's message of balance, perseverance, and connection will resonate. I wish I'd had these concepts so clearly explained when I was younger. Reading this book is like sitting down with a mentor who will save you a LOT to time and energy.

I'm giving a copy to each of my twenty-something daughters; it would be worth reading even if it was just about setting goals (and it is SO much more). And not only is it full of great advice, but also wonderful stories about other immigrants who have accomplished amazing things using these same ideas. This one's a gem!

Such an easy read, while entertaining and though provoking for anyone in any stage in life, whether you're a student, professional, working, etc. I loved her transparency about her life's trials and tribulations, while not asking for sympathy about her humble past. It was a very inspiring read for me, motivating me to work hard for things in life, rather than waiting around for something to happen. The way she tells her story...she doesn't ask that you compare your life and hers, but she asks you to reevaluate your own to see if you're truly happy and doing what you want to do, while also putting into perspective how your future is a blank slate, and no matter where you came from or what you've been through, if there is a will, there is a way. Best way to describe? Humbling and inspiring.

I found this book very inspirational. I feel most of the principals in this book apply to everyone, whether immigrant or not. Chapter 7 about Finding your Passion was the most thought provoking in our household. I haven't been this affected by a book since reading the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

This was a book I couldn't put down and have actually read it twice. No matter what circumstances, hardships, and obstacles that came up, she would just persevere and WILL her way through them. The author made herself vulnerable by sharing some life changing moments and decisions of which I could relate to. In a witty way, she really helps and inspires the reader like myself to choose my future and my life instead of just feeling my way through life. A lot of times, I just want to give in or give up because I'm tired, don't feel like it or just grumpy. I guess I just needed a kick in the pants to get over myself and continue to go after it. It's truly a choice and I'm motivated even more now to work through my obstacles and feelings. This book was great timing for me at this point in my life. I will be recommending this book to my family, friends and co-workers. Thanks Maureen for writing your story as it's certainly influenced mine. I hope you'll be sharing more of your thoughts in the near future. Please let us know if and when you'll be doing any book signings. Bob

I read this book in two sittings!!! I laughed, I cried and I am truly inspired!
This book is PROOF that hard work self-confidence and drive can get you where you THINK is only in your dreams. After finishing this book this morning I start my day with a new perspective on life. I know that I can do ANYTHING! There is no person or life circumstance that can get in the way of my dreams unless I let it! and I WONT!
This book is literally a hand book to success for anyone that is willing to dream and work hard to be happy in life!
This is a book that I will not put on the shelf as a trophy to collect dust. I will share this book with someone that I know can take what I have taken from it and hopefully they will pass it on as well.
Not only is it a quick, easy book to read. It can change your perception of life!

THANK YOU!

This book is an easy read and had lots of interesting and helpful information in it. It would be a good book for any young (or older) person who is finishing their schooling and is beginning a job search. I'd like to meet all the people who were interviewed in it.
