One of my all time favorite movies!,

Travis, played by George Newbern is a average Texas guy in his early 20's who's about to marry his high school sweet heart, Stephanie played by Leslie Hope. Stephanie's Father, an oil magnate has offered Travis a job working for his oil company after their wedding. Travis decides that before he sells out takes the job, and marries the girl next door he has to go to Dallas to buy the "hot-rod" of his dreams, a brand new Trovare Spear (Lamborghini Countach LP500S). He only has the funds to buy the car with no options, and the time to buy it and drive it home before their wedding the next day. So poor Travis lands himself in the middle of a jaded high pressure sales woman, her despicable boss, a temper mental exotic sports car, some questionable Mexican cuisine, and an insane mechanic all standing in the way of his wedding. If you like funny 80's movies with the kind of happy endings that movies today never have you'll love this movie.
P.S. The scene where he test drives the car is worth buying this movie all by itself. |
