These tales were really short, easy to read, and truly creepy. Some were actually horrifying. I received the book on a Thursday and read most of it before bedtime, which amplified the creep factor. It is probably best to read only a few stories at a time so your heart rate returns to normal fairly quickly. I ignored a fellow reviewer's advice not to read the book while alone and was afraid I'd have nightmares, but didn't. No visitations in the night, no eerie sounds, no encounters of the weird kind. If you enjoy reading paranormal stories, you will like this book. If you tend to be the nervous sort, don't read it after dark. Note to self: don't read any future sequels when alone at home after dark.

The book is filled with scary stories which are perfect for
a Halloween evening discussion. For instance, take the
late night ghost whose presence can be felt distinctly as it
places its fingers along your neckline. Another story has
the character reach into a pocket and take out a real eyeball or
how about the underwear which walked down the hall with no
person wearing it.

You can't make this stuff up (or maybe you could). In any event,
be prepared to be scared out of your wits. This book would be
a perfect acquisition for all who have the courage to read it alone.

I can't say the stories were especially scary. They were interesting for the most part. I guess it depends on your definition of "scary". And perhaps, I'm a bit jaded on that score as I'm well over 70 years young. The stories are short, they are a quick read; thus making the book ideal for short waiting periods such a bus rides, car journeys (with someone else driving), trips to the jon, etc. They may even be good for a dark and stormy night with Nox Arcana playing in the background. But truly horrifying, give you nightmares, scary? Not bloody likely. But I think you'll like the book..

It's a good thing that these stories are short. I can only take this much fright in small doses. The fact that they are based on real life encounters makes them so much better than the childhood scary tales that we were told around the campfire. Some of the stories will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. Fun but scary to read, well worth it. Just don't read them in the house all alone!

It's an excellent little book with hundreds of short stories, and like eating potato chips - you can't just read one. Some of them are eerie, some are fun and some down-right CREEPY true tales that have been submitted to Joshua P. Warren for this collection of personal scary experiences.

I like it a lot. The stories are short so the book acts as a quick read/time filler if you just read a story at a time which fits me perfectly. It's entertaining with elements of creepy. The stories are supposedly true, which adds to the feelings & thoughts the stories generate.
