This is a 1/72 scale Italeri plastic model kit. Lockheed Martin's 4-engine turboprop C-130 Hercules is by far the most widely used tactical transport/cargo plane of the last 50 years. From Vietnam war gunships to the US Navy's Blue Angels transport, it continues to serve in a wide variety of functions in more than 60 nations around the world. It's been continuously updated both in structure and electronics and will continue to be the most successful military transport aircraft. In 1962, the "E" model extended it's range. The "H" model has updated Allison T56-A-15 turboprops, a redesigned outer wing, updated avionics and other improvements. Today, the US Coast Guard uses the HC-130H for long range search and rescue, drug interdiction, illegal migrant patrols, homeland security and logistics. Italeri has captured the big Hercules beautifully and the finished model would make a terrific desk or shelf display. 4-bladed props, finely engraved panel lines, 5 seat cockpit, internal details, open or closed rear loading ramp, external fuel tanks are accurately reproduced. The extensive painting instructions and comprehensive decal sheet allow you to complete a replica from the 317th TAW USAF, 27sqdn. Richmond AB RAAF, C.1P RAF Lyneham, 46 Brigata Aerea 50Gr. Excellent model with very fine detail. The diagrams were good also. Only problem was the decals which were so small, I could not get them on. Need a better decal method
