I was a long-time Selle Italia Flite user and was willing to give up some weight for comfort on my 1994 S-Works M2 hardtail. I tried about eight saddles and finally chose the Shiver. I am 5'11.5" and weigh 165lbs and, for me, it's a really decent saddle. I don't have any issues with the design catching on my lycra shorts, but your experience may vary. I plan on putting this saddle on a new (2005. Yes, I know it's almost 2010) Trek Top Fuel FS bike.

Saddle weighs 10 oz/284.7 grams.

i will have to say that I bought a bike that had this saddle already on it. I took it for a test ride and it seemed a little narrow, but not too bad. The first couple of rides I took on trails and minor singletrack were okay, the saddle was still pretty comfortable. Then I started getting a little more brave and getting into some steeper hills and more rocky trails and have begun looking for another saddle. While it it still comfortable, when moving forward and back over the saddle shifting my weight on more technical stuff the crotch of my biking shorts always catches on the nose and the two sharp points on the rear of the saddle. This weekend I was going down between some fairly large rocks and over some smaller ones, when I tried to move from behind my seat to over my seat the crotch of my pants caught lifting the entire back of my bike with it... I almost went right over the handle bars... I think it would be a decent road saddle but the nose and back make it not suitable for technical off road use.
