Definitely a keeper, one of my favorite Grahams, and by far the best in the "Brides of l'Amour" trilogy (Frenchman's love child, Italian boss's mistress, Banker's convenient wife).

Pippa is not your typical Graham heroine. For a change, this one did stay in school, graduated from college with flying colors, is not in debt, not a single mother, and has a career that's not built on good looks. Now that's at least refreshing. :-) For good measure, Pippa grew up with self-absorbed parents, and in consequence is rather sweetly modest and pessimistic about her own worth.

Enter gorgeous billionaire new boss Andreo D'Alessio. He makes insensitive remarks re: Pippa's untidy looks as depicted in a company group-photograph. Bang! there goes Pippa's promissed promotion. To save face, she goes through a Cinderella makeover, has a couple of drinks and shows up at the new-boss welcoming party. And... she misidentifies Andreo. Well, Andreo's besotted with her, and they get along like a house on fire. But how's Andreo going to keep her when morning comes and Pippa drops the Cinderella act... and figures out who he really is?

Well, this book has intelligent writing, complex characters, unpredictable turns and a lot of humor, which is what Graham does best. The hero is simply to-die-for -- decent to the bone (though definitely a playboy and a fighter, he doesn't ever act like a jerk towards the heroine). Highly recommended, definitely one of Graham's best.

4.0 out of 5 stars I love this book., January 13, 2004
By A Customer
This is one the typical books from Lynne Graham. Billionaire hero and the ugly duckling heroine meet and feel mutual lust for each other. She thinks that the hero is in love with her body but not her. She leaves after she finds out that she is pregnant, and he follows. When he finds out about the pregnancy, he insists upon marriage. The hero and heroine admit that they both are hopelessly in love with each other at the end. This book is very funny in my opinion. The heroine is very quirky, even though her self-esteem is on the low. The hero is very protective, and he does little gestures that are very romantic. If you like one of those stories where the heroine is a swan-in-disguise, then this book is perfect for you.

Ms Grahams ''s books always manage to contain a measure of humor, and human clumsiness. I enjoyed Tabby and now, Pippa very deserving heroins not wishy washy and have some spine.

Jac. Baird's guys go WAY over the top and would need majoy groveling before being accepted back into the fold. And I still might want to see some humilliation!!!!!
