This book offers menus that have the true taste of Italy. The menus are fantastic supplying your family with several meals throughout the week; leaving you more time for other activities and less time in the kitchen. Using this cookbook and some of these delicious meals on the menu, twice a week is all that is needed to keep your family healthy, happy, and well fed!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best! November 16, 2011
Format:Paperback
I discovered this cookbook in the 90's and it remains my absolute favorite, not only for its recipes but also for the techniques that I have transferred into all of my cooking. If you like the main ingredients in one of her recipes, it will be the BEST of that dish you will ever taste. The downside is that this cookbook has ruined my respect for all but a few Italian restaurants: their dishes don't compare.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great Italian cookbook for beginners and more December 28, 2004
Format:Paperback
This was my first cookbook 18 years ago. I still have it and use it regularly.

The recipes are easy to follow and not overly complex. The dishes range from basic to solid to spectacular. Lots to choose from. The lasagna recipe has become our traditional Christmas Eve dinner and gets used many other times in the year.

Excellent choice for part of a basic cookbook set.

5.0 out of 5 stars My family's favorite recipes September 23, 2010

I have been taking credit for some of these dishes for way too long.

It started for me as a novice cook and this book about 8 years ago. Since then I have had numerous occasions of people asking me to make "that delicious thing you made last time" and I have been called "such a great cook!"

Well it is time to give credit where credit is due. This cookbook is nothing short of a miracle for a novice, and just plain excellent for those with more experience.

The recipes are not hard and are so great they bear repeating often. In particular is the Shrimp with fettucini and lemon. It has become a family tradition for our yearly get togethers. I first used this recipe as a bachelor cooking for a date, who later became my wife. IT was SOOO easy and utterly delicious. Now I make it for 12 every summer.

I have tried to find another Italian cookbook whose recipes have the same WOW factor for my skill level and I have found none. Not a single one.

I can't recommend this book enough.
