I'm surprised I liked this book as much as I do. The photos are beautiful. The recipes are all fairly similar so once you've got the basics, you can take off from there. It's a good reference to find out how certain ingredient might be handled. It's also very inspiring and goes off into unexpected directions.
If you're a beginner this will not be above your skill-set. The information and instructions are all clearly presented. Once you make some gelato, your confidence will grow and soon you'll be experimenting on your own.

It is a great edition, not only for the kitchen, but also for a coffee table display! Many recipes for a great Italian gelato, semifreddi, and so on.
