A Listmania! list by C. G. King(Horse Country, VA USA)
The list author says: "Most of us can't go to Italy to live, or even vacation repetitively, but we can revisit vicariously though great books from people who are living that dream. Some of these books are better than others and do indeed provide an Italian 'fix'. This list has my favorites."
"This second in the series of Ms. DaBlasi's life in Italy was my favorite. Her rustic life and deep relationships with the people had me laughing and crying and baking bread. Her writing is very lush with description."
"The third episode in the 'Thousand Days' series. This one reflects less starry-eyed bliss and more realization of this culture for better or worse. It's a view of a slightly more urban experience even though the town is small. The series is best read in order to get the full benefit of the background, but doesn't have to be."
