Fantastic album all the way,
By
This review is from: The Italian (Audio CD)
I was sitting in my local coffee shop on a lazy Sunday afternoon when I first heard Patrizio singing. I thought it was Engelbert initially, then Dean Martin and then Paul Anka, and was pleasantly surprised when i found out it was PATRIZIO BUANNE. I just loved his music and what a voice (Beautiful). I rushed to buy his CD the next day. I am very particular with my choice of music and artists as I like to listen to the true voice and Patrizio has definately got this gifted voice. I would also love to hear him singing in his native language although I don't understand any Italian. This is definitely an album for true music lovers.

Hot New Crooner...,
By
This review is from: The Italian (Audio CD)
Patrizio Buanne is a true crooner in the sense that he does not have to rely upon the same old American standards that every other singer has sought to revitalize their careers and sagging CD sales. His CD consists of Italian songs of that harken back to the 50's and 60's and the B&W Italian classic cinema. He even mixes it up by throwing in Nino Rota's theme from "the Godfather" acknowledging that Italian-American Al Martino's contributions. The Italian folk song, "Funiculla, funiculli" is added with the lyrics changed for the fun, almost operatic "Home to Mamma." Crowded House's "Don't Dream its Over" is given a fresh spin with Italian lyrics in "Alta Marea."
If you are looking for singer/entertainer like Michael Buble but a little fresher than Rod Stewart, than check out Patrizio. He also has a PBS special that has been airing so watch out for it and his tour..I've heard that its amaxing!

This guy is HOT!! Very sexy, terrific voice for romantic classics. Patrizio can do Dean Martin, soft rock, Italian standards, sophisticated jazz, you name it. The Italian Harry Connick Jr., Patrizio knows how to sing and reach hearts in both English and Italian. Very exciting performer who deserves to be better known. Check him out!

"Amore Scusami" could be Patrizio Buanne's signature song -- we could fall in love with him, but he's only flirting with us. I really enjoyed this album -- his voice is clear and strong, the orchestrations are lush and powerful, and the songs are fabulous. I only know a little bit of Italian, but that doesn't seem to be important; many of the lyrics are English. Even with only 11 songs, I still felt like I had just taken a quick trip to Roma, Venezia, Napoli, Amalfi, and Torre del Greco. I will be waiting impatiently for the next album!

Every song on this CD is fantastic. I love it that this young, dark and handsome guy has breathed new life on some old classics. The best $15 I've spent all year.

I found this through the Amazon recommendation and really like it. While his voice is not as powerful as his influences, it is clean and clear. His choice of songs (only 11 tracks on the version I got) is good, some familiar, some new. I especially like Parla Piu Piano (Godfather theme) L'italiano (great arrangement) and Home To Mamma (great new lyrics). If you are looking for light-hearted Italian-American music, this is a good one.
I wonder why there are two other versions with more tracks?

I hope CD's don't wear out from being played over and over because I'm sure giving this one a workout! I really enjoy listening to Patrizio singing these wonderful songs. His voice and style remind me of the wonderful pop singers of the past, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Jerry Vale, etc. Gave this CD to family members for Christmas.

Patrizio is the REAL ITALIAN! With an international appeal,
By

Besides his incredibly beautiful voice, Patrizio has a modest intelligent style that is truly authentic. Thoroghly accesible with his linguistic background, he speaks several languages including English. He is a new and rising star. How do I know that? I have seen him not only on PBS but also at two great live concerts in Saratoga, CA and San Francisco. He has a true gift for entertaining and, if his voice impressed you on the album, it will blow you away in real life. The man appeals to all generations, nationalities, and genders. He is the voice of the future, promoting La Dolce Vita. Hurry if you can catch him this time in the US. Go on his Web site PatrizioBuanne.com to check where he's touring next. He is by the way double platinum in Australia and gold in Europe, sweeping Asia already as well. Before arriving in Saratoga, he had performed at the Sydney Opera House. Don't miss this one.

I saw his PBS special and ordered the CD the same night. Very entertaining. IL MUNDO, L'ITALIANO, and Home to Mamma are my new favorites to listen to as I run and workout at the gym. Very powerful songs that just make me want to get off my rear-end and do something, whether it's dancing or working out...these songs inspire me! They may be covers of originals, so what??? He brings his own style and interpretation to them.
I attended his concert last night (4/10) at the Chicago Theatre. He was absolutely amazing. Awesome concert, great entertainer, very funny sense of humor. The crowd was on their feet for the entire encore. Matt Dusk was his opening act and he brought him out and they sang "Just a Gigolo." They sounded just like Frank and Dean. I would recommended both this CD and his new one, "Forever Begins Tonight," to everybody!

My new favorite singer/album!,
By
This review is from: The Italian (Audio CD)
I purchased this album just because I love Italian music so much. I did know most of the songs in it, but not the singer. However, I am very happy to have found this recording. It was a really big surprise to me that he sounded so much like Engelbert Humperdinck, another one of my favorites, when he sang Il Mondo and A Man Without Love.
I absolutely love that most of the songs are sang in English and Italian. I can't wait for him to sing in Spanish and Italian, so many songs have been translated. I should know.... I have been buying them for many years, and my collection is very extensive. I have been playing this CD constantly. It is great! I wish Patrizio good luck and hope that he keeps turning up such quality recordings. He is very talented. Thanks!!! Yoly |
