You Get What You Pay For, June 8, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Italian Wedding Music (Audio CD)
I guess we were trying to save a buck. We were tempted by the $5.98 cost of this CD. We are a Chicago-based band and we occasionally get Italian wedding gigs where we need to go through the traditional Italian American wedding songs.
Well, we could have saved our $5.98. The CD features a re-hash of all of Louie Prima hits (we already have his CD!) performed by unknowns but using all his arrangements. They do the same thing with the Dean Martin hits. We already have those recordings, man!
Then, there are the stale old songs redone yet again by some crooner. Why they call it an Italian Wedding CD is beyond us. . .outside a version of the tarantella wedding dance using an old Italian band with lots of shaky horns, there is nothing a traditional Italian wedding would use.
In fact, we had to laugh because they included the very Latin "Besame Mucho" on the line-up...now THAT'S Italian.
Save your money if you are looking for a real Italian wedding CD. You get what you pay for. I guess we're upset cause we thought we would get something for next to nothing.
We gave it 2 stars because it could be used for Italian elevator muzak.
Chicago 4

No help at all for an Italian Wedding, September 20, 2004
This review is from: Italian Wedding Music (Audio CD)
This Cd has nothing at all to do with an Italian wedding. I can't believe they can market it as such. Save your money, even if it was cheap (we fell for it too!)The songs are canned and bad remakes of the original

VERY disappointing CD, December 15, 2004
This review is from: Italian Wedding Music (Audio CD)
Like one of the reviewers already said, wish I had read some reviews before I bought this CD. What makes distributors think they can market a bunch of moldy tunes as a Wedding CD is unbelieveable. But I guess we fell for it.. .so they made their profit. Sticking an Italian "wedding" title does not an Italian wedding CD make.
Do NOT recommend. Frustrated Italian bride's mother. . .
