Kate Walker is a gem to be treasured. I can always count on her books to be emotionally satisfying, no matter what mood I am in. Ms. Walker's heart pounding delivery of her plot begins immediately. Her characters are vibrant. They invited me into their story and held me there until the very last page.

Alice was in trouble. She left Domenico for many reasons. The most important one was to protect her heart. She knew Domenico would never fall in love with her. His type never let emotions enter the relationship. Only now, she was forced to write him a letter asking him to call her. She desperately needed his help.

Domenico was furious. Alice just disappeared from his life one day. The note she left stated their relationship was not fun anymore. He disagreed. He still hungered for her. He was the one who was supposed to be in control of their liaison, not her. Failing to find where Alice fled too, he took advantage of the letter he received requesting he called her. He was able to find her now and he was getting her back in his bed.

Alice should have known Domenico would reappear in her world. Why she thought he would be happy with calling her, she did not know. All she knew was she did not want to face him again. If he touched her, would she go up in flames? Can she fight both his controlling tendencies and her all-consuming attraction to him? Domenico was going to make sure she could not. Flames ignite almost instantly between them. He is sure Alice is his again. However, after finding out why she needed him after months apart, he is not as in control as he thought.

The Italian's Forced Bride should be on your shopping list. I found it impossible to put down. My emotions swung back and forth just like Alice's and Domenico's. Their story is forceful and sensational. As I write this review, trying to find the perfect words to describe this book, the ones that keep repeating themselves are heart pounding love and conflict. They seem inadequate to convey the perfection of this story but they do stand out the most in my mind. Buy the book, enjoy the book. I know you will.

THE ITALIAN'S FORCE BRIDE by Kate Walker is magnificent; a stunning and powerful love story that I immediately had to read from cover to cover. This love story of Dom and Alice had me in tears, angry and sighing all at once.

Alice who has been Domenico's Parrisi's lover for months realizes that she loves him but he is incapable of returning that love. She also overhears gossip one evening that points to him having a mistress so she flees and moves back to England. However, life sometimes plays tricks and for Alice that's the case when she finds out that she is carrying Dom's child. She feels she needs to tell Dom of her pregnancy so she writes him a letter asking him to come to her so she can tell him the truth.

Upon Dom's arrival in England, this story takes on emotions so powerful it leaves the reader sitting on edge. Upon hearing the news, Dom demands marriage and takes Alice back with him to Italy. All I can so as not to give the story away, is that there are scenes which will take your breath away, secrets and tragedy and in the end a love so sweet and tender it will leave you laughing and crying at the same time.

Congratulations to Kate Walker on yet another magical love story.

Reading about stupid women who deliberately withhold information (or wait for the 'right time', which incidentally never arrives before someone finds out) and choose to misunderstand words is no longer amusing anymore. It is annoying and stupid. Just because u choose to misunderstand words and act abrasively doesn't mean u have a spine - it means you're stupid and childish.

That's all. This book really rubbed me the wrong way - sure it's well written and all, but really, this idiocy is getting too much (i guess i have just read one to many books with idiots masquerading as heroines with a backbone).

After 6 months together, heroine leaves wealthy Hero b/c she thought he was having an affair with another woman. She writes him a letter a few weeks later about her need to discuss something important with him. When Hero finds out she's pregnant, he proposes marriage for the sake of the child even though he made it clear to her before that he didn't want to marry anyone. Heroine accepts his proposal but feels resentful that he's only marrying her for the sake of their unborn child. As tragedy strikes, both have to figure out what they truly want from each other.

Although Walker writes well, I didn't like this book b/c of its heroine. She was whiny, emotionally immature, & passive-aggressive. She wanted Hero to read her mind instead of verbalizing it. Her reason for leaving Hero could've been resolved so easily if she just confronted him with it. A few times I caught myself talking to the heroine while reading about her stupidity. She is definitly TSTL(too stupid to live)! She also kept doing the bipolar I-love-you-&-I-hate-you thing with hero. It made me confused, wondering what was going on with her until I realized it was just another sign of her psychological instability. It didn't help either that she appeared resentful of her unborn child when hero seemed to care for the child more than her. Hero wasn't that hot either. He was domineering & arrogant yet insecure. His reticence to tell heroine the truth about the other woman displayed his insecurity. Although I sympathized with him when heroine acted out, I don't understand why he would be in love with someone like her. This book got my emotions involved alright but not in a good way. It made me want to slap the heroine silly & tell her to grow up!

Read only if you want to read about a whiny, passive-aggressive heroine.

Walker, as always, tells a superb emotional story that will keep you flipping pages!

Alice has fallen in love, but realizes that Dom will never return her feelings, so she returns home to England...and discovers she's pregnant. Alice knows that he has to know the truth, but she's not really prepared for Dom's reation.
