5.0 out of 5 stars A Full Story In A Small Book, July 28, 2009
This review is from: The Italian's Wife By Sunset (Harlequin Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I've read a lot of Harlequin books, and this one is different from almost every one of them. I was surprised at how much the author was able to fit into this novel, it's very hard to write a complete story arc in a hundred and eighty-some pages but she manages to pull it off. Della and Carlo's relationship has believable problems and the way Gordon relates what drew them together, what pushes them apart, and what finally reunites them was wonderful. I thought the love story was very sweet and moving; the conflict between them was not contrived, and I loved the way Gordon resolves the tension between them. I highly recommend this book, among the all the romances I've read this one definitely stands out.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Rare Gem, April 4, 2008

This review is from: The Italian's Wife By Sunset (Harlequin Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
From Book Description: "Intelligent, sensible Della Hadley should've known better than to embark on an affair with a playboy Italian six years her junior, but vibrant and sexy Carlo Rinucci was just too hard to resist....
Della knows that a fiery passion so quick to ignite should be fast to die out, despite Carlo's vow that their love is forever. But Carlo is Italian through and through, and determined to win his woman--and make Della his bride before the sun sets on their affair"

My comments: This is a wonderful story, so different from all others. Without giving the plot away: Passionate lovemaking; emotional encounters; arguments regarding the age differences; support from family; feelings of grief, hurt, despair & hope; all written in details. Well put together, especially within the 180+ pages! I personally think the author deserves a 5 Stars, just for the uniqueness of the plot, another 5 stars for the flow of story itself. I've been reading Mills & Boons/Harlequin for 35 years, I can say this one is a rare find, a beautiful gem. Even though I have the ebook version, I am going to get the hard copy as my collection. You will not be disappointed, just make sure you have tissues handy.
