5.0 out of 5 stars start packing! May 19, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Whether you've been there or not, this book is a must-read for anyone with an interest in Italy. You can pick through it as fast as you like, and then go back and savor the wonderful photos at your leisure. There is also an amazing amount of information packed into the text, in a manner so digestable that you won't even realize that you're learning some really useful stuff. It's a great primer for the first-time visitor, and for those who have already been there, it'll bring back memories of just how lovely that country is. If this volume doesn't get those travel-juices going, I don't know what would.

This book is a great read. It's a collection of stories having to do with everything Italy, and if your looking for inspiration for your trip to Italy, this is the way to go. If you haven't been inspired to visit Italy, you will be once you read this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Getting to know the "other" Italy November 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Vacation stories from a variety of people. This book will make you want to get off the beaten path. Even though i have been to Italy many times, there are many places in this book that I would return to see. Not for the quick and conquering tourist, this guide has descriptions of ancient sites to great restaurants that you can see and experience if you take the time.

This was great - a nice little compendium of short easy to read Italy stories. Unique compared to normal guidebooks, and priced well.

3.0 out of 5 stars Lots of information August 28, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It's a little hard to keep track of all the places but probably more my fault. I think it's a good book if you want to delve into it more with a map in hand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Indispensable Italy! July 10, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
The thought of traveling to Italy can be overwhelming. What do I do? Focus on the museums? The food? The countryside? Thanks to GoNomad's Plane Reader I could do it all. Awesome links, beautiful pictures, and thoughtful prose make this a "must have" guide. The information was accurate and entertaining. Who knew that travel writing could be so delightful? These GoNomad Plane Readers are the PERFECT introduction to a destination. I also enjoyed re-reading pieces on the way home because they aren't "just" destination guides--they are stories, really well written stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Varied Hues of Italy May 22, 2011
By Mridula
Format:Kindle Edition
The best part of Gonomad is that they won't do the tried and the tested so is true of this Italy plane reader. Want to hike in Italian Alps, explore castles or wish to take a cooking vacation to Postiano, you will all find it there. A delightful read.

Articles are varied but unrelated to each other and not of the best quality. I'd skip it if I were you.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Helpful or Comprehensive
Not very helpful. I would choose a different product. Perhaps I expected it to be more comprehensive and that is not what the book is designed for. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting but sloppily written
The little chapters are fine and pick some interesting topics. But it's obvious that no one bothered to edit large portions of the book. Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars This is very thin and much of it is of only marginal interest
Most of this is very light stuff which I found of little interest. The fact that the reader is on the way to Italy would suggest that he knows a lot more than this already.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
Really this is a grab bag of mostly inconsequential scraps. Some are too specific and thus of little interest to a reader who wants things to satisfy a general curiosity. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Some useful information but not what I expected
I was expecting that this book would give some insights and flavour of life in Italy but it was mainly just a recount of what people did on their trips. Read more
