5.0 out of 5 stars ultimate in funky garage, December 31, 2000

I heard 're-wind', then I heard 'woman trouble', and then 'movin' too fast'. I fell in to a state of awe. Out shopping one day, I saw blue..it caught my eye, I saw the name, and no second thoughts. I bought it and thank god for impulse buying! It is the most fantastic album I have bought in a long time, with a variety of beats, styles, vocals and rhythms. Stand out tracks are the opening soulful yet grooving 'think about me', the very garagy dancy catchy 'I can't give it up' (I sing this song for days on end!), as well as the tracks 'please don't turn me on', 'twentyfourseven' and 'we should get together'. Of course we can't not mention the classic of all time 're-wind'. It's an album that I don't think that any dance, lounge or garage lover's collection could be without! Keep grooving people, life is there to grasp!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, December 7, 2000

I havent heard an album with this many goods tracks by one artist in a long time. Featuring the massive UK hits, Rewind, Movin Too Fast, Woman Trouble and Please dont Turn Me On, this is a must have album for any lover of dance or garage music. The rest of the album is of an equal standard showing that the outfit behind this album have plenty more tricks up their sleeves.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Ultimate UK Garage Album!, July 30, 2011
As I was only a little'un when UK Garage had its heyday, I can't really remember tracks like 'Re-Rewind', 'Movin' Too Fast' and 'Woman Trouble'. It was about 2 years ago when I saw the video for 'Movin Too Fast' on MTV Dance, and it was right up my street as far as music goes. I'm a big fan of 90s music, and that particular track cemented my love of UK Garage, a genre which has sadly faded, although its little brother bassline is becoming ever bigger.

Every single track on this album is a killer. First track 'Think About Me' is like no other song I've ever heard before, and, although it took me a few listens to like it, I knew from the start that it was a quality track. Then I heard 'Outrageous', which, to me, was like heaven in a song! Everything about it is brilliant, old-skool garage beats with an 80s Disco twist, alongside what sounds a bit like Nicki Minaj in the backing vocals. Other standouts for me are 'It Ain't Enough', 'TwentyFourSeven' and 'R U Ready'.

Hands down one of my favourite albums. No competition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Compilation., July 13, 2003

This is a good garage CD.

Strong vocals over good beats producing one funky-groove of an album.

Robbie Craig, Craig David and Michelle Escoffery are just some of the artists whose voices are good.

I think that there's just one song that's missing though, Movin' Too Fast featuring Romina Johnson suits this compilation.

My favourites include Outrageous, Twentyfourseven and Woman Trouble.

5.0 out of 5 stars More! You want More???? pick up this right now!!, August 17, 2001

Suffice to say that this has to be the most enjoyable album I have come across for the year. A mate turned me on to it in England earlier on in the year and I still can't get enough. Excellent collaborations and immaculate rhythms. It's a shame I did'nt get it earlier on in summer. Definately in the top ten for the year. Nuff tunes. Every single tune is a hit in its own right.

4.0 out of 5 stars Some great tracks, July 1, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: It's All About the Stragglers (Audio CD)
My favorite song on this album is without doubt track 1, Think About Me. It's very unusual with a great bass rhythm and lovely little piano fills. Michelle Escoffery's voice suits it perfectly, and this track as with the whole album is beautifully produced. I expect great things from Artful Dodger.

5.0 out of 5 stars two stepping, March 17, 2001

think of it as r&b, garage style. artful dodger has masterfully matched the smooth guest r&b voices with two step beats. there's a certain quality to his style no other garage artists has. well composed and instrumented. 'Moving too Fast' and 'Outrageous' has a classic 80's r&b feel to it, especially the bass lines. many of the songs in this album already hold their own as well made r&b songs. they are only complimented and made more contemporary by the two step beats. this is one garage album that could easily cross over to the U.S.
