5.0 out of 5 stars It's About Time For Them To Make A Comeback
I got "It's About Time" as soon as it came out. SWV were very hot back in the day and I'm glad that they faded away gracefully without selling out. What I liked about these three young women was that they were very talented and they didn't change their style for anybody. Who doesn't remember 'weak'? This girl group was very good, I don't know why they broke up but they were good.

All of the tracks on "It's About Time" are good and Coko definetly has the singing skills to showcase her distinctive voice. SWV were awesome and I wish they'd get back together.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites from the early 90s, November 26, 1999

This album takes me right back to elementary school. "It's About Time" is one of the most memorable albums from my childhood. I remember walking home from school and singing the chorus to "Weak." I can just recall so many memorable things when listening to this breezy, beautiful album. In addition, my other favorites from this great album are "Downtown," "Right Here (Human Nature Remix)," "Black Pudding," the aforementioned "Weak," and "Think You're Gonna Like It." Hell...even the acapella of "Weak" makes you feel exactly what the title says.

This is one of my favourite cds of all time, because of the how many good songs there are on here, almost 5 hits on one cd, classic hits like "Weak". Weak is one of those difinitive classic r and b songs that is universal and loved by almost everyone. This whole cd reminds me of the best of times in my life where I was young and life was magical, love was in full bloom. Other tracks I love are "Right Here", "Downtown", "Think your Gonna like it", "coming home", "that what I need" (i've cried over this song many times), "im so into u" just about the whole entire cd, which is rare! About the only song I don't listen to is "Blak Puddin", that song is a waste. There is a good remix of "Anything" on the remix cd of SWV. This cd is just a classic, i've brought on my roads trips to Las Vegas, jamming it in the greyhound bus watchin' the desert go by. My sister actually got to see SWV in Japan about 2 years ago. They played a small club there and my sister doesn't even like SWV, she said they were awful. She said all the Japanese people were singing along to thier hit "Weak". Maybe one day they will put out one more album. Coko is a born again christian now so I doubt it, but SWV's music still lives on.

So many memories of riding around with the girls, just growing up. Falling in love with my first boyfriend with "weak". I cant say how much this group influenced a part of my teenage years. Come back SWV!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bring SWV Back, November 6, 2004

Me personnally I think that SWV is the greatest female trio of all time. Every albulm they made was hot, I thought at first that the second one was not that good but I listened to it and it came out to be my favorite. So I hope they (SWV) read this and think about coming back or maybe they want to leave the industry like they did on top.

5.0 out of 5 stars one of the stand-out albums of the 1990s girl group invasion!, February 18, 2006
This review is from: It's About Time (Audio CD)
"It's About Time" takes me back to my young days, as a pre-teen. I remember well, listening to tracks on this album, on our local R&B radio station. What made SWV stand out, as a trio, was their great ability to blend different voice types together. They all had lower voices, but Coco, in particular, demonstrated her command of her lovely alto range. This is heard especially on tracks like "I'm So Into You" (with the infectious hook, and catchy melody) and "Weak" (which was later covered by that teen pop star, JoJo---their version is FAR superior to hers, by leaps and bounds). My favorite cut is "Right Here (Human Nature Remix)." This combines a sample of "Human Nature" by Michael Jackson, with their lovely vocals.

These are the types of songs you put on, when you and your sweetie are getting together for a romanctic evening. Just turn the tracks on, pour the wine, and enjoy these Sisters With Voices. ......

4.0 out of 5 stars Time Well Taken!, March 29, 2005

Sisters With Voices, who was led by Coko, has a lot to offer on their debut album. Let's begin with "Downtown", keep in mind this was released in 1992 and this was considered a breakthrough song for ladies expressing their wants and need, and also a no no for a high school boy who was exploding with sexuality. The best songs on It's About Time were produced by Brian Alexander Morgan, who was stepping on the scene with SWV. He is also featured on the smooth "You're Always On My Mind", and frankly he almost stole the show. This lp starts off well with "Anything" that should have been an entire song and ended with the Teddy Riley "Right Here/Human Nature Remix". Both of these tunes were high notes for the group as well as the title track "It's About Time". The funny part is that they even had two songs that flexed their rapping abilities on the again sexual "Black Pudd'n" and "SWV (In The House)". Although this album was written almost completely by men, it sounds good with the ladies expressing their desires in both love and sex.

4.0 out of 5 stars Its about time for this review, January 31, 2009
This review is from: It's About Time (Audio CD)
SWV was one of those groups in the early 90s that was guaranteed to give you a great album that was fun to listen too. Yeah, you remember when R&B was fun and soulful and not this laborious and soulless junk you hear now.
SWV not only could sing but they made some classic love jams that made R&B history.

It's About Time had plenty of great tracks like Anything, Im So Into You, Right Here, Weak and You're Always On My Mind. Me personally I never thought Downtown was a bad song. It was alright but not a terrible song that belongs an awesomely bad list countdown from the same clowns that wouldnt put any Eminem songs on that list to save their lives even though the majority of Encore belongs on that list. Like I said, Downtown is alright. Khia's My Neck My Back is awesomely bad raunchy record.

Give It To Me, Coming Home and the seductive title track are all great vintage SWV tracks. There are two songs I was never cool with: Blak Pudd'n is straight up corny and SWV (In The House) is not far behind as Coko exclaims that she can make a man's nature rise with the way she sings(lol!). The album closes out with Right Here/Human Nature Remix which beautifully samples Michael Jackson's Human Nature.

In closing SWV's Its About Time is a great album by a trio that captures everything that made 90s R&B so wonderful with this album as well as their next two releases(SWV: The Remixes and The New Beginning). Listen to it as well as other artists from the 90s and you will see the difference between R&B back then and R&B now.
