Library Journal Review, September 22, 2005
This review is from: It's All in the Cards: Tarot Reading Made Easy (Paperback)
Clearly written and intelligently organized, first-time author Mangiapane makes a substantial amount of information easy to learn and equally easy to retain. For each card, there is a basic concept, a card description enhancing the concept, and interpretations framed in the most commonly asked questions: work, love, money, and the future. The minor arcana (aces through tens) are grouped by number rather than by suit, the more traditional format. This arrangement allows the reader to learn numeric meanings and suit meanings simultaneously. Court cards (pages, knights, queens, kings) often the most troublesome part of the tarot to grasp follow a similar grouping, which makes them much less formidable. Although for beginners, this book also contains information for advanced readers, e.g., runs (three cards of the same type), specific card combinations, and an account of the Fool's Journey throughout the major arcana card descriptions. Highly recommended for all public libraries. Kimberley Robles-Smith, California State Univ. Lib., Fresno Copyright 2004 Reed Business Information.

This book makes Tarot clear and easy to understand. The author is well versed in his subject and is very witty and down to earth in his explanations. NO TYPOS!
The layout and organization of the book makes for easy reading and comprehension.

Totally refreshing, July 19, 2005
This review is from: It's All in the Cards: Tarot Reading Made Easy (Paperback)
This is a really refreshing book about tarot. The way Mangiapane writes is not academic and it doesn't have the typical tarot book wording or tone, which I for one, am thankful for.
Although I don't agree with a couple of things in this book, especially when he refers to the tarot of Marseille, this book is great for studiying the RWS, as I really don't think tou can use it with any Marseille Tradition deck or any Toth tradition deck.
All in all, a very refreshing book, great contents, a little annoying on the "you're not a doctor" thing (one time is enough I think). A book in tarot much needed and very welcomed.
