Book Description

Latrease Wilson falls for an older man who doesn't want the same things in life. He's not ready to settle down. A traumatizing event causes her to develop a rare type of Amnesia, forcing her to lose sight of who she is and the people around her.

Randy Jackson, a child psychiatrist, is the older man she's been dating and comes to her rescue only to discover she doesn't remember him. Even more surprising, he learns that Latrease is pregnant.

The only choice he has is to take her home and begin helping her recover, while hoping her lost memories aren't gone forever.

During which Randy battles his own emotions and discovers his feelings for her are deeper than he'd been willing to admit.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Aw, this book was so sweet. A great love story. I read this book all the way through in one sitting and by the end I felt emotionally invested in the characters. I was cheering them on the entire time! This book really did throw a lot of feelings at the reader and is an emotional roller coaster. At the end you don't want it to end!."

1.0 out of 5 stars I returned this the same day I bought it. June 23, 2012
By LK
Format:Kindle Edition
Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy this book. Honestly, I wasn't able to force myself to finish it. For some, proper punctuation and grammar are not deal breakers. I happen to be one of the few who become easily distracted when an author uses incorrect grammar, punctuation, and/or spelling.

I felt as though I needed a red pen as I attempted to read this book. Exclamation points abound in the text, which serve to make it seem as though each character is constantly yelling. Periods are conspicuously M.I.A. There are bold lines dividing the text, especially when each character begins to speak. In my opinion, with so many companies available that could provide proofreading and editing services, I truly have no idea why so many authors choose to forgo this valuable and necessary step before publishing a book.

*****SPOILER*****

In addition, after the minefield of grammar, punctuation and/or spelling mistakes, I couldn't empathize with either character. The "heroine" annoyed me from the beginning, and I found her constant complaining before her accident ridiculous. I wondered why she chose to stay in a "relationship" in which the man she was sleeping with had already stated that he was not looking for a committed, monogamous relationship. I didn't particularly care when she had her accident, and I was more concerned about an innocent person being hurt when her car crashed.

The "hero" didn't fare any better in my estimation. He seemed a little too blasé regarding his decision to leave his first child with the mother and her current spouse. It didn't feel as if he loved the "heroine," and kept stating that he valued their friendship more than anything else.

Now, don't get me wrong; perhaps the book and the character leads improved at some point during the story, but I couldn't stand wading through the ridiculousness long enough to reach it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Final Grade: D+ July 11, 2013

Amateur writing skills. Needs to research more and find an editor. The end was incomplete. No explanation of reconciliation between the main characters and abrupt. Perhaps using an outline would help give the story more structure and a course or two in creative writing as well as a better knowledge of spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Despite the flaws, this is a published writer and I will always respect those who are committed to their craft. Keep working.

In church they use to say if you don't have anything nice to say then whisper a prayer. Well, I'm praying up a storm. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but editors must be a dying field.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good story, but... February 25, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really want to give this book more than three stars, but can't because it needs an editor to go through and check for simple spelling and grammar mistakes. It was not distracting enough to take away my enjoyment of the book however, and I would still recommend it. I look forward to reading more from this author.

2.0 out of 5 stars I'm confused August 18, 2012
By chris
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I'm confused by all the five star reviews for this book. While the story was somewhat intriguing, I was so distracted by the misspelling, poor grammar and lack of punctuation that I just couldn't get too excited about getting to the end. I did persevere and finish it. Perhaps the author was using the apparent lack of proofreading and/or editing for some unknown purpose, or as a literary style, but the effect was totally lost on me.

2.0 out of 5 stars Seriously...just don't bother. April 11, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Are you kidding me??? I am on a stretch of books that would make a saint pull their hair out!

Okay, this book had a very good premise. The woman (Latrease)gets into an accident and loses her memory. For unexplained (until the end) reasons, the man she has been dating doesn't tell her who he is.

She is pregnant and his whole family embraces her...

Life goes on, she doesn't remember her past, she gets farther into her pregnancy. She suddenly remembers, and then goes into labor.

While in the hospital, she maps out leaving him...As she leaves the hospital, he confesses everything...And then? It is their honeymoon night six weeks later and the end.

No really. Labor, plans to leave, suddenly you are at her honeymoon night.

No explanations, no talks about his lying to her for 7-8 months...Just bam. Honeymoon.

STUPID!!!! SERIOUSLY STUPID! GRRRR!!! I wasted MY time reading this!

I thought it was going to be a good book! I thought it was going to get three...maybe four stars...based on how the author chose to end the book...

Nope, the author blew it so badly that I am two starring this thing and slapping it with a recommendation for NO ONE to read it unless you really enjoy disappointment.

I am honestly pissed off. Who writes a book and then just decides they are done with it so they are going to chop the story in half and ruin it? What is the point of releasing a book to the public after you have destroyed it?

The story was about her finding her way back to him...and the author forgot to include that in her book. Period.

Just don't waste your time.
