Covering Meatloaf,
By Michael Kerner "Michael Kerner" (Brooklyn, New York U.S.A.) - See all my reviews (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE)
This review is from: It's All Coming Back to Me Now (Audio CD)
These days when artist tris to do a cover song, it can either be something worth while or just amissed opportunity of trying to gain ground. For Meat Loaf, his career hasn't really been delivering within his recent years, and with his compared comeback from 1993. With another Bat Out Of Hell record out, instead of anything really enchanting, it simply feels like Meat Loaf wants to go through getting a younger audience into play. His latest single It's All Coming back To Me Now, doesn't completely capture the feeling of his earlier songs, which although songwriter Jim Steinman definitively made out well for Celine Dion 10 years ago, just doesn't work out the same way. Although Meat Loaf gives a convincing performance on the song, I was just hoping for something much more original from him.
