Editorial Reviews

The double album, compiled by James Doman and Positiva's Ben Cherrill, brings together the film's musical highlights across 2 CDs. The first highlights the more melancholic moments from the film, and opens with an exclusive Graham Massey remix of the seminal 'Pacific State' by 808 State, it then takes you on a serene journey through tracks such as the classic 1930's love song 'Parlez Moi D'Amour' by Lucienne Boyer, the Beta Band's 'Troubles', and Goldfrapp's awesome remake of Depeche Mode's 'Halo' before finishing up with the Beach Boys' 'Good Vibrations' and Barefoot's unique new version of 'White Lines'. CD 2 moves things up a gear, with an outstanding selection of Frankie Wilde's clubbing highlights that includes anthems such as Deep Dish's 'Flashdance', Shapeshifters' awesome new single 'Back To Basics', Ferry Corsten's 'Rock Your Body Rock' alongside the exclusive Doublefunk feat. Frankie Wilde 'Can You Hear Me Now', plus Reflekt's 'Need To Feel Loved', and Orbital's festival fave 'Frenetic'. EMI. 2005.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Film - Great Soundtrack CD, January 6, 2006

Overlooked and underappreciated by far too many, the film is an excellent satire on the club and music scene, and the soundtrack CD absolutely captures the essence of the film. Disc 1 (Day) is great for relaxing or using as an ambient assist while working (I use it at work in the morning to slowly wind-up). Disc 2 (Night) is one of those rare concept "sides" where all the tracks were smoothly blended into each other so what you hear is one long track. It's perfect for a party mix (if you really want to amp it up) -- my wife uses it while exercising and I use it at the office in to combat the afternoon sleepies that usually kick in about 2 - 5 PM. And by the way, the version of the CD we have is NOT copy-protected.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tottally Awsome, August 17, 2005
This review is from: It's All Gone Pete Tong (Audio CD)
If you are looking for all the cool music out of the movie, then this is the thing to purchase. It has all the music from the club scenes in the movie, and unlike most sound tracks, has the music that I actually wanted.

The only difference between what is in the movie and what is on the cd is the mix of Rock your Body Rock by Ferry Corsten

5.0 out of 5 stars Night and Day, July 20, 2005

If you haven't seen the movie, the soundtrack may seem Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde with the 2 disc set separating the chill/relaxed tunes from the upbeat/house tracks. However the selections are terrific, even not in context of the film, from Troubes (Beta Band) and the melodic mix of Halo and How Does It Feel? to the beat hands to the air tunes of DJs in a Row, Rock Your Body Rock, and Need to Feel Loved. Music For A Found Harmonium and Good Vibrations are out of place except in context to the film, but nonetheless a solid soundtrack to drop in the hifi and get jazzed for a nite out (or wind-down from said nite out).
