5.0 out of 5 stars Great Film - Great Soundtrack CD
Overlooked and underappreciated by far too many, the film is an excellent satire on the club and music scene, and the soundtrack CD absolutely captures the essence of the film. Disc 1 (Day) is great for relaxing or using as an ambient assist while working (I use it at work in the morning to slowly wind-up). Disc 2 (Night) is one of those rare concept "sides" where all the...

The Night CD is way better than the day. Overall I guess I'm happy I bought it however I was not impressed. I guess I expected it to be better.

Disc 2 (Night) is one of those rare concept "sides" where all the tracks were smoothly blended into each other so what you hear is one long track. It's perfect for a party mix (if you really want to amp it up) -- my wife uses it while exercising and I use it at the office in to combat the afternoon sleepies that usually kick in about 2 - 5 PM. And by the way, the version of the CD we have is NOT copy-protected.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tottally Awsome, August 17, 2005
This review is from: It's All Gone Pete Tong (Audio CD)
If you are looking for all the cool music out of the movie, then this is the thing to purchase. It has all the music from the club scenes in the movie, and unlike most sound tracks, has the music that I actually wanted.

The only difference between what is in the movie and what is on the cd is the mix of Rock your Body Rock by Ferry Corsten

5.0 out of 5 stars Night and Day, July 20, 2005

If you haven't seen the movie, the soundtrack may seem Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde with the 2 disc set separating the chill/relaxed tunes from the upbeat/house tracks. However the selections are terrific, even not in context of the film, from Troubes (Beta Band) and the melodic mix of Halo and How Does It Feel? to the beat hands to the air tunes of DJs in a Row, Rock Your Body Rock, and Need to Feel Loved. Music For A Found Harmonium and Good Vibrations are out of place except in context to the film, but nonetheless a solid soundtrack to drop in the hifi and get jazzed for a nite out (or wind-down from said nite out).

After watching the movie, we ordered the cd. We loved the cd as much as the movie! The "Night" cd is more our taste in music, but the "Day" cd has some very good songs as well. The only thing that was disappointing is the version of "Rock Your Body" on the cd. It is still a good song, just not the same as in the movie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Soundtrack to a fun film, February 19, 2007
This review is from: It's All Gone Pete Tong (Audio CD)
I enjoyed the film, It's All Gone Pete Tong, but the soundtrack blew me away. I've listened to this 2 disc set more times than I can count, and it's just expertly mixed, feel-good music. Not a bad track on the set, in my opinion. Disc 1 is more laid back, chill-out music, while disc 2 is classic club tunes. Play it loud at house parties as it was intended to be.

Highly recommended for fans of house music.

This movie is a must for anyone into electronic-dance music. A funny movie that is entaining, and gives you appreciation of a well learned lesson in the end.

1.0 out of 5 stars "copy protection" strikes again, April 15, 2006

This review is from: It's All Gone Pete Tong (Audio CD)
Paid thirty bloody dollars for the two-disc set, received a badly mangled jewel case that appears to have previously been opened (dog-eared booklet) and discs that play on my home DVD player but not on my aftermarket car stereo, presumably because of the "copy protection". Didn't dare put the discs into my computer for fear of getting malware installed. Way to go EMI. Returned the set.
